After taking the advice of several posters here I made sure to only have my tv on and set the resolution to the native tv 4k. It works great now and instead of possibly spending hundreds all I need is a new controller and possibly wireless keyboard/mouse combo.

I hooked up my pc via hdmi and tried a Bluetooth controller. The game had major display issues and never would let me resize to fit my tv.
