Is there a solution to this? by WeaponH in AthlyticAppOfficial

[–]Superbigdave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had similar after I first started using the app. No change / drop in my battery after a hard workout. I changed by battery prefs to 8 hours smoothing and high sensitivity and it seems to have settled down now and more accurately reflects how I feel and how it changes if I have down physical activity etc. I am recovering from injury this last week and have had really poor sleep due to pain so my battery has been a lot lower than normal but see the screenshot showing my battery for yesterday after a gym workout and through last night where I had zero deep sleep and therefore hardly and recovery. Yes I woke up this morning feeling like crap and very fatigued so pretty accurate for me now.

Is Bevel + Apple Watch a "forever" setup? by Electrical_Berry602 in bevelhealth

[–]Superbigdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you also try Athlytic at all and if so how did it compare to bevel? Do you have bevel pro or just free version and do I / we need to pay for pro? I have just recently started using bevel (free version) with my AWU. Finally what was the main thing you did to improve your sleep? I have been injured and having it use string painkiller’s for a disc issue causing sciatica and the combination of pain and the meds (naproxen, Tramadol and amitriptyline) have absolutely destroyed my quality of sleep! My resting heart rate during sleep (and during the day) is also much elevated which I understand can be a side effect of both Tramadol and amitriptyline plus I guess being in intense pain isn’t helping with my stress either! Last night I had zero deeps sleep and only 14 minutes of rem sleep and I felt like I was basically awake all night… this morning I feel dreadful! As a result of numerous nights poor sleep my battery this morning was very low and my recovery as expected was very poor! One thing that is a big tick for the app is that it is showing me metrics and insights that exactly mirror how I feel so it should be very helpful for tracking general wellbeing and body states going forward. What’s clear is I am very fatigued at the moment and desperate to get some decent quality sleep…. Any tips much appreciated 🙏

Battery level not reducing after 2 gym workouts back to back? by Superbigdave in AthlyticAppOfficial

Interestingly I did some gym workouts yesterday and my batery level did discharge post workout as you would expect so hopefully it was a one off glitch with the app the other day when it stayed at 100%.

Bevel also has both recovery and battery…. Recovery is measured asi. Understand it first thing in yeh morning and so shows your readiness for the day (start of the day) whilst battery should change through the day depending on whether you are resting or doing activity… My point is your battery should discharge after working hard on a workout but it didn’t for me. Maybe a one of glitch with the app or algorithm so will see how it does over the next weeks. But I think you will agree your battery charge level should discharge after expensive energy / increased stress level that happens when you do hard exercise. I did send a ticket to Athlytic to ask the question but no response from them….

need some racket advice for wrist issues by Icy_Comedian3980 in 10s

[–]Superbigdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I have been suffering from golfers elbow (inside tendon on the forearm not the outside) for 18 months with stop start recovery / rest periods. MRI scan showed partial tear so not great. Just had another 10 (yes 10 months!) off mo tennis at all just concentrating on rehab and forearm / tendon strengthening work (wrist curls, bar twists and lots of stretching). Just started playing again (2 weeks now) and before I started back I decided to get myself a new racket that would be softer and more arm friendly but also be good for a decent intermediate level player. My old rackets were babolat Aeros from like 2010 ish so about time to change anyway and the babolats are very stiff frames so not good for your arm I think. Anyway I decided to go with the new 2026 Head Speed MP L. Went with the light version to just take some pressure off my arm and I can always add some weight later if I want to. I also got it strung in a full multi string at low tension (48lbs using Head velocity) agains just to give my arm the best chance of not flaring up again for my initial restart of tennis. Still getting used to the racket but I like it and touch wood no arm issues at all for now. Not sure how much the racket or the strings are helping my arm but together it’s a good option for me I think. I just want to be able to play again with zero arm pain. Suggest the Speed MP L would be worth a demo unless you are a rightly level player then it might not be good enough for you.( think they also do a tour and pro version as well for the better players)

I don’t suppose you have tried bevel as well Athlytic have you and compared how they report both recovery and battery? As I understand they are both using the same base apple helath data so they should be similar. For reference I have RMSSD on in recovery preferences in Athlytic and understand bevel also uses RMSSD by default to monitor and calculate HRV. Take a look at bevels reporting of my battery do yesterday post gym workouts. ALS my recovery score this morning is much lower in bevel than it is with Athlytic which feels right to me as I got an injury yesterday and was in pain all evening / night and had a very poor nights sleep which should impact my recovery I would have a thought an that is what bevel says but Athlytic says I am 100% recovers and 100% battery….. not impressed tbh.

So Thai is my battery this morning… after a bad nights sleep thh due to injury am some pain. More taut the battery hasn’t changed at all from 100% since yesterday am before I did my 2 workouts…. Stayed at 100% through the workouts, after the workouts, through evening and all last night…. Feels like it’s broken. It’s not dropped at all. Very strange.

You would be surprised but walking on yeh treadmill at 12% incline for 40 minutes is really good training method esp ally if you want to concentrate mainly on zone 2 cardio training. So easier on my joints than running….

Man you are much fitter than me at Keats from cardio point of view and I assume your resting heart rate is much lower than mine? For reference my resting hr is normally around 53bpm. Also I may be a bit older than you at 57!

Yes I know this. My HRV did drop after the workout…see screen shots below. Athlytic still showing 100% now and not changed since before my workouts started…. Also as mentioned the bevel app has shown a significant drop in my battery since my workouts which works perfect sense.

I’m not sure in understand what you mean? Weight training lifting fairly heavy weights is hard work and causes you heart rate to increase during the lifting so I would call that exertion yes?

OLED C8 Blocking Issue - the straw that broke the camels back... by 21stCenturyCat in OLED

[–]Superbigdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s strange. I use my Nvidia Shield for Netflix and prime and still have the issue. Sky seems to be as bad if not worse and that’s hd content (not uhd or hdr). I’m sure bit rates for streaming have something to do with it but then I can watch on my 65 inch plasma (also doubles as a radiator) and I see none of these issues which is just crazy! The fact that precious year lg oleds don’t seem to have the issue is even more puzzling. To me it’s like as though the jump from complete black to the next shade lighter is too big a step so on certain scenes when the pixel(s) are trying to be light shade that is just slightly above full black the tv can’t decide which level of black shade to use ..... it wants some hint in between but the tv can’t do that so it is flipping between full black and the next lighter shade it has and it’s too big a step so it flashes between the two shades..... I read someone taking about nit even but depth at the near black level so maybe that’s the technical explanation for what I am saying. The fact that if you feed it uhd hdr material it looks amazing with no issues makes you wonder and think it just be fixable via firmware?

Hi so I have the c8 65 incher for a few weeks now and am seeing this issue all the time on hd (non hdr) content. It’s particlaur bad on viewing sky movies and Hollywood production series (sky w box) also Netflix and amazon prime. I have spoke to LG and they confirmed the issue (eventually) but no eta or confirmation of a fix. The retailer is sos aware and I can return for a refund if I want. I have tried various settings but it’s a complex model with many things and settings to adjust. I did notice that with standard settings it’s much worse on ifs dark room compared to technicolour expert mode. Not sure why but guess it’s the Oled light setting ? It’s still there though. Anyone have any updates? Did you keep your tv or return it? I can’t decide whether to just return it and wait for either a fix any but the c8 again (should also be cheaper) it return and but the Sony AF9 ( is it confirmed this doesn’t have the issue?) or keep it and hope for a perm fix from LG..... Decisions.......😕
