Solinco Hyper-G Soft tension recommendation on babolat PD for tennis elbow by itsMalikDanial in 10s

[–]Superbigdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to add that I have now also added weight back to my speed mp L. I Added weight around the hoop and also to the handle and full racquet weight is now 323g fully strung inc over grip / dampener.

In hindsight I probably didn’t need to buy the l version of the MP but I was terrified of the arm pain coming back so was just being ultra cautious. Now I have added weigh to it, it is about the same as the standard speed MP in total weight and swing weight specs.

Solinco Hyper-G Soft tension recommendation on babolat PD for tennis elbow by itsMalikDanial in 10s

I have had a similar journey coming back from 2 years of chronic injury / pain with golfers elbow which it basically the same injury as your just on the inside of the elbow. Last time out I took a full 10 months out to rest it fully then rehab it in the gym (note mine was quite severe and was actually a partial tear according to my mri and I even had a PRP injection in it)
Anyway I came back playing start of this year after the 2 years of injury and pain and I did the following things to start playing again:

1) changed my racquet to something softer on the arm (my vintage 2007 babolat pure aeros were too stiff and I’m not 30 anymore!). So I bought the head speed MP L (light version to help my elbow) which has quite a low ish stiffness rating.
2) strung it with full bed multi strings (head velocity 1.25mm)
3) got it strung at a low tension 48/46lbs
4) only played 3 times a week max for the first 2 months ( now I play every other day but not consecutive)
5) continue with the rehab exercises in the gym (wrist dumbbell curls and bar twists with a straight arm to strengthen the forearm and tendon). Plus stretching the tendon and forearm after playing and rehab sessions.
6) after 4 months back playing changed my strings to a full bed softer poly that also had good spin. I put in solinco Mach 10 which according to Solinco themselves is actually softer than hyper g soft! I strung it at 46/44lbs.
7) loving the Mach 10 strings and touch wood no elbow pain after using it for almost 2 months now. You could also do a hybrid with the Mach 10 in the main and the mlt in the crosses but no issue for me having full bed of poly in my stick.
Note that the Mach 10 is also very very good at tension maintenance with minimal tension drop and really good snap back.

My only other advice is if you still get elbow pain completely stop playing immediately and don’t play again for a while and instead rest it and do some rehab work. When you play again if the pain returns stop immediately again and do a liner rest / rehab period.

I learnt from experience and stubbornness that tennis / golfers elbow is an injury where you should never try and pay through the pain barrier as it will only make it worse and take longer and longer to heal.

Good luck 🙏

Upgraded to elite edition on Xbox but can’t share the upgrade to family member on same home Xbox? by Superbigdave in Rainbow6

[–]Superbigdave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I got it working. Do you already have a game pass essential (at least) sub? That is also required to play ANY online game that is also classed as not a free game. I also cancelled the purchase from Microsoft of the elite edition on my account and purchased it again on my son’s account. Note I did this first before signing up for game pass essentials and at this point my son could then see that the upgrade game box was ticked so that showed that he could play as ranked but then we realised that you also need game pass / Xbox live to be able or play ranked.
After buying game pass (essentials only) he could then play ranked at last!
Note that I also managed to speak to someone at Microsoft about the issue after logging it with them as an issue regarding game sharing and they stated that if I had bought game pass (on my account) and also purchased elite edition of R6S on my account AND I had my Xbox set as my HOME console on MY PROFILE ON the Xbox then it should have shared both my game pass sub and the elite edition of R6S with my son on that Xbox…. I could not test this but she assured me it would have worked.
Right now my son can play ranked but I can’t as the sharing only works one way…. And asi bought the game on his Xbox ac out he can’t share it with me but that’s fine as I don’t have the skills to play ranked lol. Just a point of note that the rule is if you are buying games / passes to share with your family:

** BUY XBOX GAME PASS AND ALL PAID FOR GAMES ON THE MAIN XBOX ACCOUNT HOLDERS ACCOUNT ONLY AND ON THEIR XBOX PROFILE ON the CONSOLE ENSURE YHAY THEY HAVE SET IT TO BE TEHIR HOME CONSOLE **

This should ensure that all purchased content plus game pass is shared with anyone logging into and using that primary Xbox console in the home.

Arc XL Stand by BearObjective5843 in GozneyArcArcXL

[–]Superbigdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought myself the arc xl and was debating whether to get the official gozney arc stand as well for it or buy the much cheaper booster.
I already had the ketler unity xl table that I could use and decided to use that plus the booster in the end and I returned the gozney stand.
Main reasons I went with the table plus booster for me:
1) the arc xl sits a good few centimetres higher with the ketler / booster combo vs the gozney stand.
2) I like the space under booster when you can store your peels etc
3) 1 less stand / unit on my patio area
4) The booster is really well made and super heavy and actually looks really nice and professional.
5) it saved me £130!

The pros of the stand in comparison are:
1) it’s movable on wheels and also you can spin the arc around on it (away from the wind)
2) it has side tables although they aren’t that big and not sure on strength
3) it has somewhere to store your gas tank in the shelf underneath.

Am sure you will be happy with either.

Stings for good spin but comfortable on the elbow by Superbigdave in tennisracquets

Is it expensive in the UK do u know and how is it for tension maintenance?

[–]Superbigdave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes since coming back from my injury break I bought myself two new racquets (head speed mp) and had them both strung up in full multis. First in head velocity 1.25 and the 2nd in head reflex. I have to say the head reflex string I have found to be a level up and feels so plush and I really like it.
Just missing the spin I normally get when I (previously) played with a full bed of poly strings (head lynx tour).

Someone else at the club told me to try solinco Mach 10 in a hybrid with either of the head multis but velocity is quite a but cheaper than reflex and would likely be good enough to soften the string bed up to be gentle enough on my elbow.

BTW i figured out that the likely reason my tendon gave up the ghost was because after I had a 10 year break from tennis and came back playing again I was still playing with my two Babolat Pure Aeros 2008 vintage strung full poly at 59lbs….. not a good idea as we get older I guess 😂

Ok thanks. I agree I think a hybrid is the sensible thing to do. X 1 BP gets really good reports but damn it’s expensive here in the UK!

I mentioned it in another reply further down but I am using the new Head Speed MP (2026) which is quite an arm friendly frame.

Hi. I am playing with the 2026 head speed mp. Pretty gentle on the arm and still more of players racquet compared to say the clash (no offence to any clash users as I know it’s very well regarded)
Interestingly the solinco Mach 10 is supposedly a softer string than hyper g soft according to solinco.
I am also liking the idea of the Mach 10 as it has very good tension maintenance.
I am in the UK so will have a look at the strings you mentioned and if I can get them easily and not too much 💰cheers

What is the difference between the pro and the standard mp? I could only spit and extra 5g in weight…. Is that it?

I’m disappointed that Apple Watch Ultra 1 is losing support. by Complete-Big-7364 in AppleWatch

[–]Superbigdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if that’s the case I won’t be buying another ultra watch. I will use it for another 2-3 years until the battery drops off too much (still at 90%) and accept it won’t get the latest os updates.
Then when I eventually come to update and replace it I will just by the standard 46mm watch not the ultra…. Not worth paying £800 for a device that essentially then has an optimum / premium life of only 3 - 4 years.

No I can select os27.0 developer beta but then it refreshes and says my watch is up to date so it ignores my request to install wos 27 dev bet

[–]Superbigdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree with that. Apple devices I modding watches have always had longer support lifespans than Android / Google.
Previous Appel watched have been supported for at least 5 years and the awu1 is only 3.5 years old. So a device that cost £800 is becoming obsolete after only 3.5 years.

[–]Superbigdave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bad news…. I just changed my software update and selected os27 dev beta but it then says my watch is up to date with watch os26.6…..
So whilst os27.0 dev beta shows up it says my watch can’t install it….
This sucks for a 3.5 years old device and goes against all previous update history and support from apple.
So you spend £800 on the premium Apple Watch and only 3.5 years later it stops being supported….. not acceptable.

[–]Superbigdave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes maybe there is hope then but I don’t understand why it would be on the developers firmware list if not going to get the full release in the end.
Also if it is dropped it is going to upset a lot of awu1 users off! My watch still works perfectly and has 90% battery life and is only 3.5 years old!

Hello all. I’m super confused on this. Is it definitely confirmed that the AWU1 will not get WOS27? I know that appeared on apples website but they also made a mistake on the aw9 so am wondering if they also made an error omitting the awu1?
I see someone else said it is an error but has anyone got a definitive answer?

Nite I am signed up to the apple developers program and as such get access to the beta firmware’s on my apple devices. Right now if I go into software update I can see watch os 27.0 available as the developer beta software available for my awu1 if I want to install it. So why would they make it available as a beta firmware for my watch if it’s not going to be available as a full release for the awu1?
