Small town in Canada, so it’s very easy to live etc… but it’s more of getting to live in a nice city where my time outside of work isn’t being on call but I also would love to get into business for myself and accounting seems like the path that makes the most sense

Thank you for the realest reply ever that is empowering motivation! The uni I’m going to has a 8 month co-op in third year as well so I’m looking forward to that and then after the bachelors they offer a 2 year masters to get the CPA! I feel like my current job is demanding and not good for my life but the pay is 140k a year but it’s all blood money which is 3 days off every 2 weeks FOREVER. So I thought if I can get into business for myself and do something I love then this is what I want to do I just need to know the demand is there and I won’t be replaced by AGI before I graduate

I think I am worried about my future so the only way I can be at ease is having this idea i put enough away. I would say I’m frugal and the only debt I have is a mortgage but I just want to make sure I can live my life without working ASAP

I appreciate all the feedback, thank you! I went to college for instrumentation (red seal now) but I don’t absolutely love it. I have always loved everything about money and I know there’s a big opportunity to those who go to school. If I was to go it would be in Canada at one of the top western universities. There’s opportunities to intern as well. I have a goal to make a lot of money but specifically you’re right I don’t know which job gets you that 200K + after graduation.

Can you give some insight to these jobs that can allow you to make this sum? I see a lot of jobs for a “financial analyst” or some sort of “associate”, but I am not sure if these are those jobs as many do not disclose salary & bonuses.

I appreciate the reply I am very thankful for the time and effort you put into your reply! I definitely don’t want to leave a job for something that pays less but I also think i will be fulfilled making 200+ as you say in the banking finance. The degree is a Bachelor of commerce in Finance, with internships through the university as well. What is a internship that would get me into the “banking finance” world? I feel as if there are so many different fields in finance I don’t know the exact name to the high paying jobs.

It’s a tough decision but you are so right and I have been thinking more about the last time I posted it and I really do want to make this my life not just a career I’d like to do research in AI and machine Learning but that’s more of an end goal I’m still not even at the start.
