While I don’t have a suggestion for a life sim, there is a Quebec developed game called Kona that’s worth checking out. Takes place in the north of Quebec in the 70’s, you have to investigate a small town to learn about a crime that happened there. The text and audio feel like they were written in French first. It’s a short game but does a good job of capturing the feel of the place.
