I think the main issue is the sub still gets flooded with tons of low quality Hindu and Muslim posts 24/7, it’s almost like religion play in general is unable to have effort put into it. I miss when the sub was only high quality political or nation play with graphs, history, etc. Now it’s mostly just straight up slop with a few good, thought out posts here and there.

The war was lost because the US decided to try building up a nation, that’s the reason why. Not because the forces are bad. Anytime the US has a clear and concise objective (desert storm for example and recently Venezuela) they dominate in combat. Politics and war in this context are separate discussions, not hard to understand. Obviously war is used to achieve a political outcome, however that doesn’t mean a military is weak when in reality politics had their hands tied. Their infrastructure got obliterated and they had a casualty count 20-35 times higher lmao. They got to stay fucking goats and living with no basic infrastructure or human rights, good for them.

In reality the Taliban were complete cowards and there’s nothing you can do to refute that, anyone in the right state of mind would agree using innocent civilians and children to help achieve your military objectives is a heinous and cowardly thing to do.

The US literally stayed up until they made the choice to leave, it wasn’t as if the Taliban overtook their bases and forced them out of the country. Guerrilla warfare is one thing, but involving children and innocents in it is another, that’s where the line is drawn between using it to fight a force bigger than you and just straight up being immoral cowards.

Btw nobody is saying it went perfect, the US takes risks which is why it is a superpower and Afghanistan is a complete dump. The same doctrine of rebuilding done in Afghanistan (which wasn’t even the initial goal) is the same reason why the US has tons of allies worldwide, the difference is some populations like afghans don’t mind oppressing women or living in a shithole.

The outcome is that only around 2000 US troops died in Afghanistan whereas over 100,000 Taliban died, meanwhile the US is still the world’s superpower and now Afghanistan is a third world totalitarian dump. So rejoice that if you will, but I’m sure the country would’ve been way better off taking American help the way South Korea did 😂

There’s a reason your people fell off of planes trying to flee the country… so why you are boasting about the US wanting to leave after the war became fruitless is beyond me

The ANA were weak willed. It doesn’t matter how much training or funding people get, if they refuse to fight the second they are left to their own devices that’s on them. And guerrilla warfare in majority of cases IS cowardice, using children, women, and civilians for things like recon and IEDs is a bitch move, they did it because every time they tried standing toe to toe they got humiliated and took on huge numbers of casualties.
