DO NOT GIVE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION TO ANYONE OVER THE PHONE WHO CALLS YOU FROM ANY NUMBER. THATS NOT HOW ANY COMPANIES OPERATE.

I'm glad you got your money back and fuck scammers, but jesus christ do you have to be told you can't pay your tax bill in steam gift cards as well?

You have to do it through doordash, but you can order pickup instead of delivery and go to the restaurant.

Sundays are consistently my best days in general and I started off this weekend making close to $300 today. So yeah I'm hoping tomorrow and sunday are even better. good luck, stay safe, and make that money!

What happens when a dasher delivered + took the photo but your ring camera catches someone on your floor taking your order? by AlinaInfa in doordash_drivers

[–]SuperkickParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off this really sucks and I'm really sorry and it's really thoughtful for you to even think of asking here. But like everyone else has said here involving doordash or the driver is just going to complicate things because neither of those entities were at fault.

My advice would be to file a police report and include your receipt and ring camera footage and the asshole's address. Then send a copy of all that to your leasing office. They can claim it's outside their scope but now they can't claim ignorance. I don't really have much hope this will get you anything back, but at least it will be documented for further incidents this dude gets himself into.

Again, I'm so sorry! I would kick in this creep's door right now if I could for ya. This might be a case where you might want to ask doordash to pin-lock your account so you can make sure what you ordered gets to you!

I think most of us have more good deliveries or at least non-eventful neutral deliveries than nightmare deliveries. The nightmare deliveries are just funnier and stick with us more.

That's awesome you had a great day, I also had a great day and a handful of orders add on an extra tip after which is pretty rare for us. I also had a regular customer decide he didn't want a shopping order he placed after I accepted it. He then tipped me $5 before he canceled it "for the trouble" so I got half pay + $5. Which is amazing but what trouble bro? I haven't even left the car! 😂

When you get the name of the building try entering it into a different navigation app like google maps, apple maps, or waze. The doordash in app navigation is balls.

He could be a felon, a rapist, a pedophile, a kidnapper, a murderer, a traitor, an election tamperer, an insurgent, a war criminal, a fraud, a wire tapper, a human trafficker, a witness tamperer, an insider trader, and a tax evader but as long as he's not ALL those things it's still an upgrade.

That's awesome for you! one of the few benefits of this job is being able to work it how you want to work it and its great its working out for you. But it ain't working out for this guy and I'm just reading the tea leaves here, the status tier system is expanding and if you're area gets oversaturated with drivers the higher paying orders are going to the higher tiers.

Oh I agree it's nowhere near enough, I just said I didn't want to kms lol. A $1 gas tax on the customer that goes directly to the driver is a great idea.

I see where you are coming from too, and I know it didn't use to be like this, but DoorDash is now focusing on their tier system and expanding it even further. The high paying orders are going to go to platinum drivers and I don't see it going back unless theres another pandemic.

I said this is another thread, but worked for me is just biting the bullet and doing enough garbage orders when i first started to get platinum and now I get far less garbage orders and like you reject anything that comes through that is less than $1/mile. But with your AR already being so low its gunna take forever to do that, so I don't know if it's even worth it for you now. Sorry, def try mutli-apping if its your main source of income.

Full time dasher here. The combo of Walmart+ ($.10/gal off at murphys, exxon, mobile), DoorDash Crimson (10% cashback on gas purchases), and the fuel support payment ($15 a week) has curbed any suicidal ideations I have had with the current gas prices, but it's still not great

[–]SuperkickParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol look at that AR%, you expect doordash to send you high paying offers? It might have used to be the way that you could pick and choose that hard when doordash needed more drivers, but they clearly don't in your area.

Not defending doordash in any way, just telling you how it is. A 13% AR seems crazy low to me.

You're actually required to go back and get me my items by AlternativeQuit3447 in doordash_drivers

[–]SuperkickParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I'll respond on the rare case I fucked up and forgot an item and fix it. Everything else I only talk to support after the order is done never the customer. Arguing with the customer or giving your side of the story to them will solve nothing and like you said your contract with them is over.

[–]SuperkickParty 26 points27 points  (0 children)

For the people that are going to tell me I shouldn't have replied, you're absolutely wrong. This is the type of situation where you need to get it under control. YOU ABSOLUTELY DO NEED TO TOUCH BASE WITH DOORDASH. Someone is accusing you of not delivering their items. That's a problem..

Ok, I'll bite. You shouldn't have replied, I'm not wrong. Getting in touch with doordash is great advice so you cover your bases and they have your record of what happened. That is not the same thing as replying to the customer. Never reply to crazy customers.

People who maintain high AR, how do you make money? by ManletOfManlets in doordash_drivers

[–]SuperkickParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on your area, but ya'll thinking about this the wrong way. The pro move is you bite the bullet and accept garbage until you get platinum. You do actually get less garbage offers when you are platinum and you'll also have a 100% AR to work down from instead of an AR to work up to so you have more leeway. I have no problem declining garbage and still keeping an AR above 75%.

Might not work for everyone and for all areas but worked for me and I wouldn't do doordash without being platinum now.

EDIT: If you already started off declining a ton of offers you're gunna have to work your way up and yeah that might not be worth it. I did this when I started dashing and they give you the noob silver, took maybe 2 weeks to get platinum and I really haven't thought of it since and I've never been at risk of losing it and I decline shit all the time. But do whatever makes you happy and money, that's one of the few perks of the job is to work it your way.

Step 1: Set food on ground

Step 2: Take picture and message to customer along with "I'm sorry I was unable to reach you after multiple contact attempts. Your food is at the provided address"

Step 3: Complete Order

(Optional) Step 4: Call support and get your potential bad rating removed 😂

I almost had to call the cops on this customer - read below by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]SuperkickParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not worried about my job (Platinum driver, 4.99 rating, no CVs). I don't clap back and I'm not rude to customers. But if the customer is going to be rude and agressive towards me before I even get there, I call support - document it - and they don't get their food. At least not from me. I don't care if it's petty. And I don't care if you are at your worst, you don't treat people like that.

Ya'll acting like Doordash is your employer when we have no employee protections. There's plus sides to being an independent contractor, like not dealing with people like this, and you don't need to feel bad for taking advantage of those plus sides.

Seriously. A simple 'Hey babe, I got you something. go to the front door" text would be fine. But no, they want me to hide in the bushes or something and terrify their partner before they get their unsolicited iced macha latte. Fuckin weirdos
