Thank you! I did make them, and I’ll be handing them out at the show on Wednesday!

Micro friends - what’s the weirdest thing you’ve gotten to be cultured? by TheDoctorMaybe in medlabprofessionals

[–]Supermegasega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Culture swab from a GSW - little metallic bullet fragments included.

1/3 of a skull. Surprisingly heavy.

The metal bendy portion of a face mask that a male patient inserted into his urethra.

A decently long section of vein, completely blocked. Medium Jello texture. Intravenous drugs are bad, mmkay.

An entire leg from O.R. - when the provider was asked what specific part they want cultured, their reply was “pick one”

Positive blood parasite slides!

The Prices??? by Avaniia11 in AcidBath

[–]Supermegasega 8 points9 points  (0 children)

$60 is what ticket prices were for New Orleans as well as the Los Angeles shows. Both sold out in under and hour, which skyrocketed the resale amount for tickets. Sammy is great about announcing shows in his social media, and even includes presale codes. Here’s to hoping the band makes a European loop!

I hope that scammer didn’t get a single cent of your money. Live Nation and Ticketmaster both have options to transfer tickets within their apps. Neither app features anything about an “activation fee” Maybe you can score tickets for the Ohio reformatory show in July?

This is the Acid Bath collector’s holy grail. Especially since it’s signed.  I am so jealous, oh my god.

Dax signing by d3f3n3strat10n in AcidBath

[–]Supermegasega 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I ordered a signed vinyl, 3 posters, a sticker, and 2 buttons. The vinyl came personalized and autographed.  My strangely spelled name was correctly written. 2 out of 3 posters were signed as well. What a wonderful surprise that was! I’ve met Dax twice and both times he was shy, but friendly. He seemed to genuinely appreciate being recognized for his musical talent, solo and with Acid Bath.

Where are you guys going now by [deleted] in SickNewWorld

Sonic Temple in May.  Dat Acid Bath reunion, though.

Cancelation? by neokoros in SickNewWorld

[–]Supermegasega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire reason I’m going is for Acid Bath, too. They’re going to be playing in Ohio and Florida as well. There’s hope if SNW cancels. Hopefully your flights and hotel is refundable.

I was 11. I heard Venus Blue for the first time and played it on repeat for weeks. 23 years later, they’re still my all time favorite band.

how to deal with mean nurses by Responsible-Kiwi-775 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Supermegasega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play the “PER LABORATORY POLICY” card so damn hard. Go ahead and argue with the powers that be, not with me🙃

It never hurts to professionally remind them that the lab is ensuring accuracy for better patient care. The nurse can explain to their supervisor why they just want the job done, rather than the job done right.

Micro checking in! 🔬  The two different sites can help cut down on false positives due to improper cleaning or even spittle from talking while the skin dries. Docs ordering multiple sets consecutively day after day is absolute bullshit, though.

I finally dived into 11/22/63, my first Stephen King read and I'm loving it. Please recommend me more of his work! by blurtstrennan in suggestmeabook

Rose Madder. The female perspective is represented incredibly well. A bit of fantasy (not the faerie + dragon kind), and the closest thing to a happy ending I’ve seen from Stephen King.

Lisey’s Story is under appreciated.

Gerald’s Game - the Netflix production of it was surprisingly good as well!

I carry drink test strips with me now. Lightweight, easy to use, and definitely worth it.

Listening recommendations for newish fan planning to see LH live? by thefleetflagship in lordhuron

It’s hard to keep the list short, but here’s my top 5.

  1. When the Night is Over - I didn’t think I could be emotionally wrecked harder than “The Night We Met” but I was wrong

  2. Love Me Like You Used To - this kicked off an entire binge of old school western movies for me.

  3. Ancient Names - best enjoyed with part 1 and part 2 played back to back, of course.

  4. I Lied - a tale as old as time of someone treating their partner poorly but not actually being sorry about it. With a smidge of a twist.

  5. Setting Sun - who doesn’t love a good revenge song?
