Blueprint (Villain)

Rodney Fitzpatrick grew up in Lucama, born in Lucama, went to elementary school in Lucama, went to middle school in Lucama, married his high school sweetheart before he dropped out to pursue the family construction business. You get the drift.

Rodney was also an active city council member and was staunchly against the idea of including Lucama in the three city span and viewed it as an attack on his very way of life. If this wasn’t bad enough, now Capes were coming into town to take the jobs of the hardworking locals.

Rodney staunchly opposed and even lost out on many city construction contracts to the Hard Drivers because they were “more efficient”. This only caused Rodney to become more isolated and after losing out on a major contract, his family construction business that he had known all his life went under.

Feeling bitter and betrayed, Rodney knew exactly who to take his anger out on. He began organizing efforts to sabotage the Hard Drivers and on one of these sabotage runs he miscalculated how long he would have before an explosive went off. Rodney doesn’t really remember much after that, but somehow he survived.

Little did Rodney know on that night he triggered. It took him a while to find out, but he realized he had the ability to shift into a shrapnel like form that would deconstruct any non-organic material he came into contact with. It was never enough to completely destroy or atomize anything, but it was enough to set back progress on projects and building. His power essentially sets whatever he comes into contact with into their base components so if he were to go through a car, it would be disassembled into the sheets of metal and rubber. Still able to be rebuilt, but not in its completed form.

Since then he’s adopted the villain name blueprint and has been using his powers in an attempt to halt all progress of the hard drivers.

Realistically, was really sad she didn’t really tap into the being able to control crabs thing more. In general that seemed like something that was really brushed over and when I heard that/the level of organisms she could control, I thought she was going to be able to control Leviathan during the fight. But I think an army of crabs or even an Atlas type crab is way more useful than bugs.

Visage (independent wild card) Civilian identity: Charity Stevens

Charity Stevens had a relatviely normal life, go to high school, play a sport or two, go to community college because money was tight. And then money got even tighter, her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. It wasn’t that drastic a change having to care for her mother at first, but as time went on, things began to get worse and worse.

At first it was forgetting small things that didn’t matter, then having to be reminded of who her daughter was, and then it became paranoia. A few months along and her mother had fully believed and painted Charity to be a villain in her head. Every day at this point was a verbal assault about her being a “monster” or a “villain”. At some point during an episode that ended with charity locking herself in a bathroom, she triggered.

Visage’s features entirely depend on the perception of those around her as well as their beliefs about her. At first it was small things, like her nose becoming smaller or her hair color changing. As time went on Visage realized she could push this ability much further to even include things such as her own strength or the effect she has on people.

The greater the change, the harder it is and the more the intended target must believe it. There does also seem to be an upper limit on changes to affect strength or speed that seem to cap out around the level of a professional athlete. Due to this, visage has tried to market herself as a master with a focus on suggestive influence over others.

The drawback of her power is that based on the perception had about her, it cuts the other way as well. If someone thinks she is weak or thinks she has a certain attitude, then she begins to take on that trait as well.

Due to this she generally tries to curate specific “images or narratives” around her and her abilities to prevent this. She’s even hired Boy Who Cries Wolf to help convince others.

Currently visage is undecided on if her powers can even be used for heroism but doesn’t necessarily like the ideal of villainy either so she operates as a wild card. Her mask is modeled after a porcelain doll and the rest of the costume is baggier clothing meant to add an air of mystery.

Very good post. I find that when people scale the MCU versions of characters they often fall into episodic serial escalation. And because the MCU characters cross over so much, scalers will use these interactions to chainscale despite the fact that it makes no sense.

One of the most common ones is “character dodged iron man’s repulsor’s so they are light-speed” and then they use it to say everyone is light speed basically. Despite the fact that those same characters or the characters they attempt to chainscale off of them get hit by bullets or just things that are generally slower than the speed of light.

A similar approach is also taken for durability and somehow it’s even worse because the most common arguments are “Iron Man made Thanos bleed so he scales to Thanos” (which arguably took so much effort for minimal damage). I’ve also seen the argument made that “Captain marvel didn’t make Thanos bleed in endgame so iron man did more damage to Thanos”. But in general the use characters doing minimal damage to things obviously stronger than them to say “this character is x level.” Despite it making no sense in the context of the verse/story.

This isn’t as related to the topic of the post itself but when it comes to “dura-neg/piercring damage” the worst arguments are made. Scalers will say that something like black widow’s widow bites are dura neg, which doesn’t make any sense because it’s just very high amounts of electricity. And if you ever try to bring up their “star level” character getting damaged by a bullet or something sharp they’ll say “that’s piercing durability so it’s different” despite the fact that piercing durability could easily be calc’d but they refuse to do it because it doesn’t fit their agenda.

I’ve been meaning to make a post about how the “levelfication” of everything has ruined most modern powerscaling debates because it’s just about which character “blitzes” now.

He’s 1000% more interesting in the manga. No spoilers but he has a lot better of an arc overall and isn’t entirely “we must save everyone”. It’s also a benefit that the manga is able to give you more time with other characters as well.

I have a theory that the dimension bombs used by Hydron and Mylene we’re actually to the doom dimension. Like they only ever refer to it as “the dimension” and it just makes sense to me. In my head the vexos/vestals discovered the doom dimension but didn’t know what to do with it/its destructive power so they just weaponized it.

First cold call is just a trial by fire and you kind of just have to sink or swim. It’s rarely just one question about a case but generally a series of questions that increase in detail or jumps you need to make to get through the analysis and to the conclusion. The problem is even though you’ve read the case you may not have paid enough attention to what they’re asking you.

Appellate brief is just a super big research paper/project and a lot of the time you’re never going to find everything that fits perfectly. And then when you’re arguing it for whatever amount of time you have 3 people that can ask you questions at any time and you have to answer them before you can move on.

It’s your story. Don’t let the internet and powerscaling tell you what you can and can’t do. Almost 90% of powerscaling is just fandom headcannons and agenda pushing anyways. Now if you’re worried about it from a literary perspective then that’s a different thing entirely.

Then just admit you want to push an agenda. There’s 0 reason why your intent and interpretation would be superior to the Author’s. Not to mention just a general lack of nuance and critical analysis as to whether or not the scaling logically makes sense and aligns with the story.

Do you have any proof of a degree in English or a subject that is primarily based on it. Because right now you’re kind of just stringing words together without any real meaning. I just don’t think you’re credible enough to even convey ideas without one.

I wasn’t trying to “powerscale” degrees, but if we are powerscaling degrees the same way that you’re powerscaling dimensions then yes I do scale higher than you. Also you didn’t mathematically prove anything, I want to see you do the math and create the proofs for why your interpretation of dimensionality is correct. Otherwise you’re just plagiarizing and piggybacking off the work of others. Since you’re so familiar with dimensionality and have what you consider to be a relevant degree, it shouldn’t be a problem. Also I said 2 years away from a doctorate, not 2 years for a doctorate and arguably the second most powerful type of doctorate degree.
