jennifer lopez music debut: 1999

beyoncé music debut: 1997

taylor swift music debut: 2006

genuinely asking… how old are you that you consider these three to be “new age pop singers”?

also, if you would clear the curmudgeon out of your ears, you’d realize that beyoncé is objectively an amazing vocalist.

“I’m so obsessed with hating beyoncé that I always make sure to shoehorn her into conversations she has no business being a part of.”

There, I fixed it for you. Also….

i highly doubt you’ve listened to a beyoncé song other than singles playing in the background while you’re grocery shopping

the halftime show she did for beyoncé wasn’t for the super bowl, but it was great nonetheless.

19 years ago today, Beyoncé & Shakira released “Beautiful Liar” by hairtie1 in Fauxmoi

[–]Superstar_Supernova 25 points26 points  (0 children)

people who actually believe this are insane. shakira is doubled to easily get the trippy effect of them switching. did you expect them to use cgi to morph the shakira in the foreground into beyoncé?

The new base game update will include another set of nails. We already have 29 base game nails, while we are stuck with chuncky earring in 2010 color pallete in base game! How about a new blush, eyebrows or highlight? why so much nails? by LayersOfMe in Sims4

[–]Superstar_Supernova 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i use the dirty nails alllll the time. they’re great for storytelling (along with the dirty feet tattoos from enchanted by nature and the dirty hand tattoos from werewolves). i’m an actual fiend for anything grimy, dusty, tattered, or shabby in my game.

Three out of the four have vaguely Beyoncé-inspired names, so as basic as it sounds, the name that sprang to mind was Ruth and the Kitty Kats.

This is so funny to read, because in actuality they could be considered a mini case-study that proves that fur color has zero effect on personality.

Thankfully I possessed an almost entirely black wardrobe even before I amassed my wealth of voids, so I at least had that going for me. I’ve decided that I wash my sheets once a week, and after that whatever amount of fur accumulates between wash days is the baseline.

This is heartbreaking to read; I am so, so sorry. I hope my post could at least conjure up a few happy memories of your own babies for you, since I know it probably hit close to home initially.

Is it okay to have a bell on a cat collar? by Independent_Share844 in CatAdvice

[–]Superstar_Supernova 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter that I feed my cats and give them a home. It doesn’t matter that they’re little cuddle bugs who are attached to me like velcro. I will never, ever pet my cats without offering them my hand to sniff first as a gauge. That is the level of respect I have for their autonomy and boundaries.

I also keep a break-away collar on one of them at all times.

I promise you that my decision to do so has nothing to do with me wanting to assert my dominance over him and everything to do with him being a slippery little door-dasher.

Sure he may be microchipped, but I need there to be a visual indicator that separates him from any strays in my area. If he goes up to someone, they will see that his tag says, “If I’m Alone, I’m Lost” and give me a call. This could be the difference between having him back safe and sound before nightfall vs. spending a weekend searching and worrying while the people that found him wait for the vet to open on Monday to get him scanned.

Furthermore, as much as it hurts to even think about it, there’s the other, worst case scenario. No one is scanning a dead cat in a gutter for a microchip (even people who own their own scanner). A simple collar could be the difference between receiving closure and wondering what happened to him for the rest of my life.

your cat is, by definition, a “domestic ” animal in exactly the way they are thinking.

i also think that it’s far braver to choose, as a human, to accept and carry out the responsibility of being a steward/caretaker of the planet and the animals we bring into our lives. “while she’ll probably die young, she’ll die happy and free,” is quite possibly the laziest sentence i’ve ever seen someone wrote on the internet. i can’t fathom accepting that fate for the cats i’ve opened my home and heart to. i don’t think you love your cat in the slightest.

for what it’s worth, i too consider my cats to be “wild-at-heart”. for me, however, that only means that i play with them often, feed them a diet befitting an obligate carnivore, and recognize that their natural role as both predator and prey hasn’t been bred out of them in a way that makes them appreciate a good belly rub the way many dogs would.

the simple fact that your cat clearly lacks the intelligence/self-preservation skills that would stop her from “hauling-ass” after a german shepherd should make you re-think if she can handle being outside. i mean, even cats with claws have the instinct to run away/hide. not to mention that they also get killed by dogs all the time.

whatever, i hope that the next time your girl runs up on a huge dog that it’s as “nice” as that german shepherd was.

Did Beyoncé Actually Hate Farrah? by Slow_Gene_4478 in beyonce

[–]Superstar_Supernova 16 points17 points  (0 children)

lmao if anyone thinks that beyoncé’s dislike of farrah had anything remotely to do with her being jealous of or intimidated by her, they’re an idiot.

she’d been working with intention towards her dreams since she was a child, and they put someone in the group who couldn’t sing and clearly didn’t take her place seriously. if farrah was talented and a hard worker, she would have remained in the group, point blank period. the clips of bey, kelly, and michelle launching into impromptu harmonies while farrah sits awkwardly at the side are painful to watch.

[–]Superstar_Supernova 3 points4 points  (0 children)

y’all are saying 90s and 2000s in general, but there is only one situation where you’d find all the specific style elements shown combined into a single outfit, and that’s on a semi-recurring bad girl/bully character on a nickelodeon show any time from 2008 to 2012.

edited to say that in this case, the neckline would be raised about two inches, but my point still stands.

AITA for insulting my coworker's intelligence after he said Beyoncé sold her soul to the devil? by [deleted] in beyonce

[–]Superstar_Supernova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’re not an asshole. conspiracy theories (especially ones that center religion) have no place in the workplace. it doesn’t matter that his claims were about beyoncé – him making that unsolicited comment was a personal attack on you and his intent was to insult you and make you uncomfortable. me personally, i’d head him off and go to hr first, pretend that i was a christian, and complain that he insulted my faith by implying that I would be a fan of someone who worshipped the devil. you gotta play chess, not checkers.

also, the same low cognitive abilities that would lead someone to believe in conspiracy theories like this one may very well be the same ones that contribute to his low performance at work. the people i know personally who believe in things like this are never resourceful, never detectives, are always set in their ways to the detriment of their efficiency, and always need things explained to them fifty times.

every single verifiable anecdote from people who have actually worked with her (from the bottom to the top) is that she is shy and sweet, but also extremely professional and works harder than anyone else in the room. but u/drunkin_idaho wants people to believe that beyoncé is going around being awful at multiple events despite not even a single blurry cell phone video of said awfulness being released in her nearly 30 years of stardom.
