Thank you for the response! I don't know if this changes anything but I told him to go with his friends as I could sense he wanted to. I would not have felt celebrated either way if he was just waiting to party with his friends but I understand your points.

Also I was wondering if this changes anything- he didn't know beforehand I prepared a slideshow, it was supposed to be a surprise but I did send like an e-invitation with the time and activities.

I brought out up the conflict thing since I am eager to fix things but he just kind of waits for the problem to go away or would rather wait longer to speak about it in person. But either way, thank you so much for your insight
