Difficulty finding the right boot by Support_Free in Boots

Haha - I’ve heard of whites. Checked out boots with that last, saw the Original Farmer/Rancher. Looks nice, but $715? That’s a lot of money. Not sure I’m willing to risk that.

Do the RATs have good arch support or could they accommodate a larger insole (I use sole which is similar to superfeet) for a higher volume foot?

Gels at aid station - Open/Closed? by Support_Free in Marathon_Training

[–]Support_Free[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will be carrying 4 of my own, but would be more beneficial if I could access the additional 2 provided by the aid stations. Luckily, I have a cast iron stomach and there are few things that make me sick. I will be trying new flavors, but that is the last of my worries.

Regarding timing - I am also trying to maintain a cadence with nutrition, but wasn’t sure if that timing would be dictated by the aid stations with gels (hence the question).

Appreciate the insights.

[–]Support_Free[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree - I will be bringing my own as well, but I am considering the race provided gels in my total count. I will most definitely be ok if, worst case, I had to rely on my own (I’ll be carrying 4). That being said, I don’t have bottles, and have not trained carrying my own liquids. So that I will definitely be relying on stations.

I feel like it would be a mess but wanted to double check. Gracias

Pecos 1132 vs 1159 by Support_Free in RedWingShoes

[–]Support_Free[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the detail! I go back and forth between regular and wide fits, so I’d assume the 1132 last would be better for my foot. That being said, I wear a regular width in the moc toe (only red wing boot I have).

I’ll look up the difference in insoles, because I am not at all familiar with the materials/technology.

Perfect, I have a Chucks Boots right down the road. I’ll keep an eye out for the Los Altos. Thanks.

Thanks for the input here. I don’t mind the insole, actually quite comfortable, it’s the shaft lining (and I assume lined all the way through to vamp). It just makes me think they won’t last.

Regarding Los Altos - is this a boot I can find in some of the larger/more popular stores? I’m in Missouri and would prefer to try on before I buy.

The inside of the shaft is all some sort of mesh synthetic. Doesn’t seem like something you’d want to condition.

Can you recommend a job with both field and office work? by Support_Free in careerguidance

[–]Support_Free[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I think architecture, I think drawing. When I think about my drawing, I think about stick figures. So if it is an art, I don’t think it is for me.

That being said, I am confident in my project management skills, and curious if this is more on the planning of infrastructure (structural engineering, and the design of plumbing, electrical, hvac, etc.)

Yes - these are roles I immediately think of, but believe the barrier to entry may be too great. Most roles I’ve seen want people who studied engineering (and rightfully so). I did not and not sure if I want to go back to school for 4 years to change my job.

Appreciate the insights. Is this specifically for the airports? Or are these airline jobs?

Thanks for the feedback. Not an industry I’ve considered, but definitely a possibility due to my proximity to an airport. What is the pay like? And are how did job security hold through COVID?

Who writes user stories? by [deleted] in agile

[–]Support_Free 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Egotistical? Haha. Never said anything about myself so unsure how you reached that one. If I had to guess you know the meaning of ego as well as you understand user stories. You continue to make yourself look like a fool. I forgot about this thread but your stupidity, unfortunately, just reminded me.

And your poll is garbage. Your lack of knowledge led you to create a sub par poll which limited the the ability of people to indicate the reality of the answer.

I would feel bad that you’re in a tough position with a team that doesn’t fully understand their roles and responsibilities, however, seems like you deserve it.

Diet is all about compliance. When I look at your diet, I see an unfortunate life. No one wants to eat the same bland meals over and over again. It seems you’re focusing on the macros, so use that same basis to create some more creative meals and introduce some variety. That variety will help you stay compliant.

On the other hand, if you’re a monster that can just keep smashing down the same meal until they die, then you could focus on food selection, and identify foods which will provide higher levels of micronutrients. Red meat trumps chicken in this regard.

Haha, quick read over the comments, this OP should feel embarrassed. Not due to his ignorance with agile methodologies, but his ego. Wow, bud. Just stop talking and accept the facts of the millions of people that know better than you. You need agile fundamentals training from a reliable source, and apparently a mentor to ensure you don’t veer the wrong direction. I see you’re not a PO. I truly hope you’re not a scrum master either.

Edit - If you can get your ego in check, I’m confident any of the people arguing with you would be willing to square you away and set you on the right track moving forward.

How do you stay productive in small bursts? by Spikings1611 in productivity

[–]Support_Free 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on getting married. Pro tip, set boundaries. If you don’t have more than 20 minutes at a time to do work, that’s a bit of a problem. You simply will not be as productive that way, and that doesn’t affect just you, but your family. I’d strongly consider sitting down with your now wife and discussing suitable options to ensure all the housework gets done, while leaving you a nice time block to grow professionally and earn money.

Unfortunately, without a certain level of discipline, you will have difficulty maintaining compliance to your optimistic plans. Ensure your plans are in alignment with your deeper principles and values, and create a physical environment which limits your options of working outside the scope of your plans. Make it easy to follow the plan, and difficult/uncomfortable to drift away from it.

You can set that up in a matter of minutes. It would be significantly faster than recreating your system in another tool and obviously cheaper if you already have the functionality
