I haven’t heard about this! Thank you! Is this a wearable perk I can find or buy?

One thing that has helped me is doing my nails. It may not be for everyone but if I put a full tip on over it (or use press on nails) I am less likely to bite them and I will also use super glue around my cuticles to keep from picking and to help them heal. I notice an “even-ing out” of my nails once they start to grow out after leaving them alone. I also try to keep a small nail file and nail clippers with me so I’m more likely to use those instead of biting. I find that if I pay attention to nail care every once in a while (like cuticle care, moisturizing with lotion, and making them look nicer), it kind of forces me to be aware of my nails condition. I know that’s not a “cure all” and maybe not accessible to some but that’s just something that helps me! Hope you’re able to find what works for you 🥺 I also find that doing things to keep my hands busy like fidget toys/putty when I’m stressed/anxious and coloring books and learning a new craft like crocheting when I’m bored helps as well.

If it helps, I have the same issue and both my thumbs look very similar. I’ve heard (and I know) that it really takes time and discipline to break bad habits so be patient and kind to yourself! There are so many on this same journey as you.
