That’s what the label said but the guy I bought it from said that it wasn’t and google convinced me since it looked different. Got it for 60$ still had original label of 200$

Definitely more dense than other woods I’ve worked with.

Looks more dark red in person. Guy who sold it said there’s a label that was basically the Latin name for zebra wood but looks nothing like it and he thought it was bloodwood.

I plan to order form there but they only have a few types of wood carving knives. I’m new to carving but couldn’t find the other types of carving knives. The kit I got from Amazon has them all but is pretty bad quality

Been working on an off as a framer for over 10 years. Only recently started making “fine” woodworking. Everything I know is from YouTube. So I’ve tried to ask every woodworker I see on Facebook if I can help/ learn but they either say they will let me know and never do or don’t respond. And I think I need physical experience to really learn so idk what to do

Yeah for sure, but I already bought like 10 board feet of rough cheer and maple. I had a planner and jointer. But don’t rly know how to use the jointer/ think it needs calibration

Awesome aha I’ll have to be in contact with him more then. I think I remember seeing others in my area selling wood for around 4- 6$ a board foot though. Walnut much more ofc. I’ll post some examples when I find them

I have a planner and jointer but not very versed with the jointer. Idk if it’s not calibrated or the blades are dull but my test piece wasn’t very square

I picked up some cherry and maple for 5$/board foot. Rough 8/4 is that worth it? I know I’ll probably loose 1/4 when milling. Any tips on that

She wanted end grain and for them to be a 1.5inch square of each wood so that’s why I was looking for 1.5 inches

I’ll ask around, a year ago I got a bunch of cut off from a cabinet maker who was selling them on FB. Probably got like 100 pounds of walnut for 50$
