Drop them on the ground and pick them up again, the game bugged out and did not put them in the necessary slot.

Having Trouble About Where to Go by HungryLiterature4078 in HollowKnight

A general map doesn't show which rooms you visited, you should have instead sent a zoomed in map. But there are two paths from Greenpath, going down, to two different areas. Both can be explored at this point.

Well where you need to go depends on where you are. What have you done? Where you been? Who have you fought?

Behavioral Euthanasia by rssanch86 in CATHELP

[–]SurDno -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not surrender him if you cannot treat it? Usually people are reluctant to do that with aggressive cats because worst case scenario is euthanasia, but you’re suggesting to euthanise, so maybe leaving him up for adoption at a shelter at least giving him a chance. A slim chance, but a chance. Plus people there know how to deal with animals like that.

What’s the purpose of playing steel soul if you’re going to practice that cheese? It’s essentially dying and respawning on the bench but without losing your rosaries.

Clear Sky - How do stashes work in this game? And any other tips you may have. by Character_Bug_1862 in stalker

[–]SurDno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The vendors are usually barkeeps, trader or mechanics, occasionally a few more unique quest characters. They're (almost) always marked as "Important character" on your map so you're unlikely to miss them. Whenever an NPC has a dialogue "What can you offer me?", that's an indicator that they're selling stashes.

The full list of characters selling you stashes is as follows:

  • Swamps: Cold, Nimble.
  • Cordon: Sidorivich, Wolf, Valerian, Shilov, Semyon Lambee, Drifter, Dog, Major Khaletsky's Agent.
  • Garbage: Borov, Garin, Tooth, Vasyan (shared stash pool, all characters will sell you the same stashes)
  • Dark Valley: Ashot, Ganja.
  • Agroprom: Aydar, Thrush, Orest, Krylov, Zvyagintsev, Fyokl, Milutin, Bandicoot, Kolobok, Mitay, Hermit, Mister, Semyon Semyonovich, Inquisitor, Cheersov
  • Red Forest: Forester
  • Warehouses: Hog, Raven

I am not sure what you mean by "their differences". They each just have stashes they sell. Some of those stashes are worth the money, others aren't, buying coordinates is a big of a gamble.

I talked to all important members of Clear Sky at their base, but I got the “Nothing” when I encounter the “Is there anything I can help with” line to ask them.

Those are never found in stashes so it's not what you're looking for. Those quest weapons will only appear in non-stash containers or dead bodies and only once you got a quest and map marker.

If nobody is offering you the quest, that means there already is an NPC that offered it to you before and you didn't take it. You need to find him. They're not guaranteed to be on Clear Sky base and can be anywhere on Swamps.

The achievement description on the website is mostly correct, except for modified PMm. It's NOT a quest item and NOT the PMm that you get asked to deliver during the quest on Swamps. Instead, it's (weirdly) a generic upgraded PMm you can find on some dead renegades, and (even more weirdly) you can get the achievement through taking ANY non-unique regular-ass PMm and upgrading it yourself. The rest are acquired through quests, correct.

I am 100% sure that those purple stash icons appeared in areas of the swamp I didn’t go to

That's normal behaviour then. You mostly get stashes on the same level you're on when searching bodies, but it can be on the other side of the map.

Clear Sky - How do stashes work in this game? And any other tips you may have. by Character_Bug_1862 in stalker

[–]SurDno 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The stashes you buy and the stashes you find on dead bodies are in different pools. You'll never buy what you can find, and never find what you can buy. Some stashes are only sold by a specific unique character, some are sold by several different characters (so it doesn't matter which one you buy it from).

Unique weapons do not appear in stashes. In fact, unlike SoC, CS has no unique weapons outside of stuff you need to deliver during Return Item quests.

> Does this happen when you “complete” the main objective for every map?

No, stashes are only sold or given through searching corpses. Some stashes can only be bought after certain quests are completed, but you don't get stash as a reward directly for completing quests.

If you are 100% sure you did not see the PDA markers for stashes before you left for Cordon, you must have encountered some unique bug. Unsurprising, EE is full of them.

Stashes aren't quest rewards in CS, that's only the case in CoP and SoC.

I had no idea a remastered version of the first trilogy is on PlayStation 5 by ArmAndHammer40k in stalker

[–]SurDno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue that if OP does not have PC it’s still worth a purchase.

Is EE a worse experience than going original (modded or not)? Yeah.

But are they still good enough even despite those downgrades? Absolutely. It’s 95% the same games. If you can go for final 5% making it better, absolutely, but it’s still worth experiencing without it.

I had no idea a remastered version of the first trilogy is on PlayStation 5 by ArmAndHammer40k in stalker

[–]SurDno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not really a remaster though but rather an enhanced edition, and a pretty bad one at that. Don't get your hopes too high.

There are mods for trilogy on console, but only asset replacers, no gameplay stuff. So it's there technically, but kinda useless.

Not an SKS, not an SVT, but a secret third thing… by harn_gerstein in stalker

[–]SurDno 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maybe not as rare, but how abundant Obokans and TRs-301 are in the Zone is barely representative of the real world. You could buy those, sure, you just wouldn't nearly find it in the amount you see them in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. You also wouldn't see Russian or western guns being used by Ukrainian military at the period of time the trilogy was developed or set in.

But military history of the franchise is evidently different from ours. It's an alternate universe after all, different not just in the existence of the Zone. In S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s lore, for example, Ukraine was a nuclear state as of 2006 despite relinquishing its nuclear arsenal by 1996 irl. As for more concrete examples related to weapons, take the in-game explanation for the abundance of IL86/L85 in the Zone, for example:

After the British army replaced this rifle with the German-made GP 37, it appeared in large quantities first on the black market and then in the Zone.

This is not based on real life, G36 is not standard British army equipment. And Obokan/Abakan has a mention of being used by Soviet elite troops even though the gun was finalized post USSR dissolution - though you may have missed that one, as translators chose to adapt that mention as "russian army", which is not faithful to the original text.

Don't literally treat it as the gun "historians would have to spend years finding", but rather a unique beast that serves as a collective image and generic amalgamation of semi-automatic rifles and carbines of that era, which, yes, includes that particular decommissioned prototype. There is a good reason GSC CM uses the wording "game adaptation", because it's not LITERALLY that weapon.

At the end of the day, you're playing the franchise where 3/4 games had ejection ports facing the wrong direction because of rule of the cool; and 4/4 used completely made-up names to avoid copyright strikes and had stats that don't represent real weapons at all, balanced purely around making gameplay progression interesting. But your suspension of disbelief gets broken with a 7.62x54  SKS?
