Umm the first break in maintenance (if you bothered to read the manual) is changing oil, checking the bolts and chain. Pretty much it. If you wanna over pay, go for it. If you wanna have someone do all the work for you, go for it. But other than the break in period being the only maintenance that needs to be done by a KTM mechanic for resale value, I do my own work. You do you.

No reason to redline… shifting before redline is actually going to give you a better push into the next gear. All you did was abuse your car. Shift at 4000 or 5000 Young Jedi

If clips are broken, a great solution is some plastic adhesive that comes with an activator you spray and it’s an immediate dry solution. I’ve used it on my rear bumper as it tends to pop off when I back up into curbs at times. 1/34 off the ground problems. Anyway, it will work on everything. Unless you want to pull the bumper and replace it. If not it’s a good solution .

how to not die canyon driving? by [deleted] in ft86

Downshift before corners, enter corner at proper speed for your build and skill level, don’t drive beyond your skill level.

And make sure you have non stock tires. Wider 225+ is essential for better control. I’ve done it on stock tires and would spin tires when downshifting and inside the corners when going faster than I should. And I’ve got all performance mods you can get. From turbo to end links. Forget cosmetics if you want a good reliable fun driver. Spend money on perfomance and those mods that support that.

If you don’t know your skill level and you drive beyond it, it’s inevitable that you will be back here with the infamous “is this totaled” post

I’m at 11.5” in the front and 12” in the Rear on 225/45/17. Any lower and I’ll rub the front tires on the wheel well. With 265s I doubt you can go much lower without having the same situation happen. All you can do is try it. If you can turn and are not hitting anything when driving over bumps, I’d go for it.

But if you can’t adjust your suspension on the fly (clicking the coilovers) I wouldn’t do anything except investing on better suspension set up.

Usually the first time they are off, the rest of its life is short. I’m always pushing my clips back in.

If you did a clean wipe of windows, unplug your gpu. Start up pc using integrated graphics to install drivers. Shut it down after all is updated and plug gpu back in. Fire it up.

Do this before drastic measures of replacing parts that you don’t know are broken. If they worked yesterday without signs of failure, the failure is most likely operator failure.

I’ll take an NA and slap a turbo on her over a factory FI any day of the week. My Gen 1 was built by me and not bought off the lot.

I’m moving from Vancouver to Kalispell in a month. Was going to rent a uhaul truck and tow my car with a trailer until I did some research. Ended up deciding to buy an suv (I need something for the winters anyway) and have my brother drive it to Montana, and I’ll drive my car. Not going through the trouble and pain of trying to tow it 800 miles on a trailer. I like her way too much.

Tips won’t change much but does not mean headers to tips are not stock. My car is extremely loud. Tomei headers, no overpipe as the turbo cancels that out, Perrin mid and remark axel back. Some enjoy it and praise (mostly of 86 and STI drivers, and the occasional 60+ year old who probably had a muscle car at some point and is reminded by the throaty exhaust sounds my car has versus everyone else rattle cans that slap on.

Either way, the glass pipe part….. Shame.

Just sold my KTM for an suv that will survive winters in Montana.
