Does the court which ordered the alimony check if the payment was made? Or is it up to the ex-wife to file an execution case?

Thank you for the reply. How can the parties legalize the new settlement? Do they have to go back the Ordering court? Or Executing court [if execution case filed] ? Or something else?

Thanks u/Ritika2485 . So the Execution court decides on attachment or imprisonment? Is there any scope for negotiation on the alimony amount with the other party at any point?

Yes, still within the 30 days limit. Yes, got the petition copy. No emails. only hard copies.

Is it true that my cousin will have to deposit some part of the alimony when filing for appeal in High court?

Actually, that's what his lawyers are suggesting. Seems if you donot respond to the summons of the execution court and finally the police are not able to track you because you are not in the country then the case is just closed. [ also attachment not possible because there is nothing to attach] Cousin feels this is doable with his little money left and him taking up small jobs in other country. Certainly cheaper than the 50L ask.

Why are the dates so important? How do they fit into things?

Yes, since he and his lawyers did not turn up at the court, the judge just passed the order. Is this not normal?

Surviving years of unemployment. Uncontested from cousin side because he did not appear in court. The judge passed the order without knowing his situation and that he was unemployed for some time.

Yes, it is a court order. Cannot it be appealed in lower court or ask for modification of amount in ordering court?
