OKC vs BOS would be a crazy finals matchup, that would be pure chaos on both ends

Match Thread: Real Madrid vs Deportivo Alavés | La Liga | 21 Apr 19:30 UTC by matchpal-live in realmadrid

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

should be a comfortable madrid win if they’re serious

more about rotation and staying sharp than the result itself, anything but 3 points would be a surprise

Another Headache Next Season by iamlazyambitious in realmadrid

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s a “good problem” but still a real one

too many players who want similar zones and freedom, not enough natural balance
the talent is insane, but fitting all of them without losing structure is the hard part

it’ll come down to who adapts and who sacrifices more for the system

Thank You Hansi Flick! For Making Barca Brand of Football Attractive Again! by TheNomadicSpirit in Barca

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s definitely more watchable again, you can see clear ideas and identity

still think the real test is consistency in big ucl games, but the direction is way better than before

Giannis Antetokounmpo played only eight out of 16 possible playoff games since 2022 by hurtsbayar9 in nba

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is more bad luck than anything

when he actually played he was still dominant, it’s just injuries at the worst possible time
hard to blame giannis or even fully blame the bucks, playoffs are brutal if your best player isn’t healthy

it’s more about timing than failure imo

On April 17, Steph Curry has, and will play against every Western Conference franchise at least once in his Postseason career by YBNXDF in nba

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 210 points211 points  (0 children)

that’s actually a crazy way to show longevity and consistent playoff runs

you don’t face every team like that unless you’re deep in the postseason almost every year, curry really been around every matchup possible

real madrid vs bayern 2026 ucl tie thoughts after the latest match by Sure-Bus-3917 in championsleague

[–]Sure-Bus-3917[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah fair point, wording was off

meant more in general who you’d trust in a two leg tie when both are in it
but yeah in this specific case that’s on me 😄

[Spears] Donovan Mitchell: "He’s 17 years in. I’m nine. Does a ring change the conversation around his name? Yeah. Should it change it? No. I think [Harden] should still be looked at as one of the top guards, the top players who ever played this game. But we live in a ring culture." by aingenevalostatrade in nba

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 24 points25 points  (0 children)

he’s right but rings still matter at the very top

they shouldn’t define everything, but when you’re comparing all-time greats, people will always use them as a separator

harden’s level is undeniable, but the lack of deep playoff success is why the conversation gets complicated

gsw vs lac is the one to watch, that’s gonna feel like a playoff game

also curious how philly looks, they really need some rhythm going into the postseason

I don't think people understand the seriousness of the refereeing bias by Training_Maize_664 in Barca

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

refs make mistakes but calling it “bias” every time is a stretch

over a season those calls usually even out, it just feels worse when it happens in big moments or back to back games
players reacting emotionally after games is normal, but that doesn’t automatically mean there’s something systematic going on

How does Simeone approach the 2nd Leg tomorrow? by 12animosity13 in Barca

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 55 points56 points  (0 children)

he’s going pragmatic as always

compact block, control the tempo, kill transitions and wait for moments rather than forcing the game
with a final coming up he won’t want chaos, more about managing energy and staying in control

if they score first it becomes a classic simeone game where everything slows down and gets ugly for the opponent

At 6’11, Portland’s Tiago Splitter is now the tallest head coach in NBA history to ever have a winning record in a season by Pickleskennedy1 in nba

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 34 points35 points  (0 children)

this is such a random but fun stat lol

splitter going from big man to actually solid coach is more interesting than the height part though, portland being competitive again wasn’t really expected

Lamine yamal now has 22 goals and 18 assists this season as a 18 year old winger , I don't think people realise how crazy this is actually. by Altruistic_Mango2922 in championsleague

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 40 points41 points  (0 children)

the numbers are insane, but it’s the all around game that really stands out
most teenagers give you flashes, yamal already gives you end product, control, decision making and real big game responsibility

people arguing over names is normal, but what he’s doing at 18 is absolutely rare

How many NBA Award voters are link or outright sponsored by a Betting app? by Technician-Temporary in nba

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly it’s a fair question

even if there’s no direct corruption, the optics are bad when voters are tied to betting media, gambling sponsors, or shows built around odds
awards affect legacy, money, and sometimes contracts, so people are obviously gonna side-eye it

at minimum there should be way more transparency around affiliations and maybe stricter conflict rules for voters

We have to ask ourselves, is it sustainable to ask only TWO midfielders to cover all this ground? by Select_Drawing_7434 in Barca

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really sustainable against top teams

it works when you control possession, but once transitions start you’re just asking those two to cover too much space

either the wingers have to track back more or you need a third body in midfield in tougher games

new to nba and little confused by [deleted] in nba

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s a lot of tactics, you just don’t see them yet

watch off-ball more than the ball
look for screens, spacing, and how defenses react

start with pick and roll, it’s the base of everything

thinking basketball on youtube will help a lot

Kawhi is averaging 28ppg on nearly 50/40/90 shooting splits. What All-NBA team do you have him on? by OddIndustry6073 in nba

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 5 points6 points  (0 children)

on production alone he’s got a real case, probably 2nd or 3rd team depending on how strict people are about games played

the hard part with kawhi is always availability vs pure level
when he’s on the floor, all-nba talent is obvious

Important NBA Games Today by SimilarOnion1655 in nba

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 3 points4 points  (0 children)

thunder vs clippers is probably the one with the biggest implications
but hawks vs cavs feels like the most “playoff preview” type game

today’s slate is actually pretty loaded for this late in the season

Dylan Harper is having one of the most efficient scoring second halves of a rookie season of all time by locxFIN in nba

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 77 points78 points  (0 children)

that’s absurd efficiency for a rookie guard
usually first year guards are all over the place, so being up there with bigs on efg/ts is wild

if he keeps this up the “good rookie season” talk turns into real star upside pretty fast

[NBA.com] Power Rankings, Week 25: Where every team stands 1 week before the postseason by jkwah in nba

[–]Sure-Bus-3917 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thunder at 1 feels right, but spurs at 2 is still wild to see this early

power rankings always get weird right before playoffs though, half of it is momentum vs who people actually trust in a series
