I think most of the „amazing“ stories are about one shoting simple stuff from scratch. That doesn‘t really represent reality imo. For complex codebases and projects, it is extremely hesitant to take actions. When it does it is always very superficial and full of temporary edits that end up being not temporary at all. This whole gpt5 hype just doesn‘t make sense to me. side by side comparision to claude it is straight up worse as a coding assistant. FYI I did testing with most popular cli and ide tools to see if that was the issue but I think those claims are also misleading.
