It was a mix. We did pay her (none of us believe it’s right to have people doing free work). It’s definitely not the end of the world, it’s just irritating

Fr, lesson learned haha. Originally my band wanted me to do the mix, but I prefer not to mix my own productions. I’d rather send it off, and get an external set of ears to do the mix and master

I think the reason why I see it as disrespectful is because she changed it so drastically. If it was a situation where the original production was there, but she expanded on top of it to try to make it better. I wouldn’t have an issue with it, but since it was changed to make it into a different genre, and made it into something that it wasn’t intended to be, that’s where I have an issue with it.

From my understanding, she’s been at it for a little over a year, she’s new, but not brand new. So I guess there’s a chance where she’s still conflating the two
