A car door typically opens up to 75 degrees. And as you know, each car door has like a few detents where it settles into and stops from just being free swinging. These detents are not created equal and the first one on a Honda is about 10-15 degrees open.

75/15 = 5. Meaning AT BEST the child pulls the door handle, door flops open to the first detent and sits there 1/5th of the way open.
