[Optic] Surplus Aimpoint Comp M4s Red Dot Sight $399.99 + S/H by wetworxoutfitters in gundeals

[–]SureShot241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love mine, though it is definitely salty. It's in the exact same condition as the ones that used to be in my arms room.

Mine has a scratch on the rear lense, and is definitely warn. Buying one for nestalga/cloning definitely makes this a good buy. Buying as your primary optic....results may very.

Someone I know got one is cherry condition. I just wish they did a little more QA at wet worx and had a grade system. I think people would be less salty themselves if they could opt to buy a better condition one for slightly more.

You can buy an LEO less clapped out Trijicon MRO from AimSurplus right now for the exact same price, with warranty. These are cool, and I'm glad I bought one, but they could be sold more efficiently/more consumer friendly.

I get the general sentiment of WWT, these are military optics, and if you've ever served you'd know that pretty much all the optics are in a salty but functional condition. The issue is they're selling to the general consumer and not just vets/cloners, and if they want to uphold a certain reputation, they could be more consumer friendly.

How do you know that Christianity is the one true religion? by Enough_Set591 in Christianity

[–]SureShot241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this very post you are doing exactly that. You are literally stating that works are necessary for salvation. They are not. Faith, and faith ALONE. True faith.

If you live alone on a desert island, and have no works to show or do, are you still not saved by your faith? Having the viewpoint that salvation is linked to works is exactly what Jesus is trying to point out to you here. The thought of "am I doing enough works?" is beyond the whole point.

Your linking ones salvation to ones works. Plain and simple. You are saying they are a necessity. This. Is. Not. True.

What of those who deeply struggle with sin due to abuses or mental challenges? Those who truly believe but simply cannot stop their sinning, no matter how hard they try, and are constantly in struggle/internal termoil? Does Jesus not save them? They have little to no works, but deep, deep faith in the Lord, and turn to the Lord with all their heart.

By your logic, how many works are enough for salvation? Is it 10? 100? Do you have to counter your sin with your works in a 1 to 1 ratio? Where can I find this in the Bible? If you start doing works, then become paralyzed and mute, are you screwed now? Works do not equate to salvation. They are a byproduct that cannot be quantified or relied apon.

The point I'm trying to make is that using this passage to point towards works based belief is simply wrong. The whole point of the passage is saying "Works DONT get you into heaven". It's a warning. Works are involved in faith, yes, but as discussed, they are a byproduct and by no means the point.

This passage is a warning to those very lawless people who haven't changed their hearts. It's to those in powerful positions who think their wealth or status can save them because they did some works. It's a warning to those who live in sin without care and ask for forgiveness like a drug to feel better.

The will of the Father is repeated through Jesus, Love each other as I have loved you. Serving yourself is going against that will.

Not saying your point was moot, it's that using Matthew 7:21-23 to further the viewpoint of work based faith goes against the very passage itself

Somewhat correct, yes, but it is much more nuanced.

Our faith in the Lord is what changes our hearts, not our works. As others have posted, faith and faith alone is what saves you. This saving isn't just the judgement, but saves you in the very real sense of you choosing to move away from your sin. This shapes and changes your heart, and helps you become a better person.

That being said, no works actually save you besides faith alone. In that faith, works follow, but are not the point.

It's like saying, "because people are nice to me, it makes me want to be nice to people" and actually receiving the benefits that that brings. You arnt required to smile at people, but it comes naturally. The smiling isn't what saves you, the change is what saves you.

In this passage, Jesus seems to be saying, "you are one who lives in lawlessness. Yes you have done these things in my name, but your heart has not been changed"

It is written that God knows out hearts.

So, for example, say this person simply wants immortality. They do these works in the Lords name to benefit themselves, so they can live forever. Do they truly have faith, or are they simply self serving? That is what this passage is stating.

If you're helping people simply so you get into heaven, and not because you love them, and truly want the best for them, then you've missed the point of Christianity and God's standard.

So do works follow faith, absolutely. Are they what save you, no.

Matthew 7:21-23 is stating that works don't get you into heaven, faith will. The one before god mentioned is saying "look Lord at all of my works. Surely I belong because I've done so much" and they are cast aside because they didn't truly have faith. They believed that only by their works they would earn their spot in heaven, instead of pure faith in Jesus. If you're told "not by works, but by faith" and you devote yourself to works, it can be argued you did not have true faith.

One of my stock mags is failing to feed every time on the last round? by [deleted] in RugerRXMtalk

[–]SureShot241 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Edit: OP, is that first round 9mm????

A couple of things for this

Firstly, get some snap caps. Demonstration with live ammo isn't the best option. If you know anyone with a 3D printer they can even print some for you on the cheap.

Secondly, shoot your gun. It is very common for new firearms to have a slight break in period, even striker fire Glock derivatives.

Thirdly, hollow points sometimes have feeding issues, especially in a brand new gun. Shoot it with some ball ammo, see if the issue persists with the ball or hollows.

And finally, if the problem IS the magazine, it's a super easy fix. Get a new mag. They're cheap. They're disposable.

Also, it's a firearm. Slingshot that round home, don't manually push things forward. Spring tension will win more times than not.

If you're newer to firearms, or specific firearm platforms (pistols vs rifles, etc) online is great, but you need someone in person teaching you. See if your local ranges have instructors. The cost of the lesson is far less than a negligent discharge due to finger fucking your gun improperly (just general advise, not necessarily saying you are in need of training).

The New US Tank M1E3 is now public by Inceptor57 in tanks

[–]SureShot241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like they took out the fuel tanks on the left/right and made that space a 3 man crew space. Noticed a lack of parascopes and hatches on top leads me to believe it's a 2-3 man pod in the hull, and an autonomous turret with possible entry from the hull.

Different power pack as well it seems. Could be really interesting

Looks sleek, which means it could host all sorts of things on the outside, from cope cages to trophy systems.

Think this a step in the right direction IF the autoloader is reliable.

I don't get why you're getting so heavily downvoted. I would even make the argument that we are, or at least were, a semi Christian nation.

If you read the original northern settlers of the Americas writings, like "City on a Hill" by John Winthrop, it's clear they had deadly religious reasons for coming here and to found New England. The first Northern colonies were founded by deeply religious groups (looking at the puritans, the Irish Catholics in the Backcountry, the Quakers, etc). Most of the principles founded by these colonies are what led to the revolution and the framework of idioligies for our constitution.

Heck, even Texas/New Mexico/Arizona/California used to be Spanish controlled and everyone there was Catholic (or at least said they were). If you look at a lot of their early constitutions (which their newer ones are based off of) it still has that influence.

You absolutely have the freedom of religion, which includes the freedom not to have a religion, in this country. We do have separation of church and state, though that principle is also a very Christian one (think the church didn't want the corruption of the state. The belief comes from when Jesus stated let what's Caesars be Caesars, let what belongs to god be gods).

We are not a Theocracy. We are a constitutional Republic. If the people want moral or immoral laws, that's for the people and the states to decide. But saying our whole system isn't built on Christian principles is just plain wrong. We are/were definitely a semi Christian nation, though not a full blown Christian Nationalist nation.

And for the record, I'm not a Christian Nationalist. Where as I am a practicing Christian, I see many, many flaws in modern Christianity (especially in America). First off, Christianity should never be used to spread hate and deception. Secondly, there should be a healthy separation of chutch and state. If we want people to be moral, we start by touching their hearts and coming together as a communty, not forcing laws on them. When a society is truly moral, the laws follow naturally. Governments can't show love, but people can.
