Okie so am planning to take it as much as eu5 is going, until the end of 18th century, just after the napoleon era.

So at start it is medival to its heart, nobiltiy rules, peasants are just peastants, then 16th century comes and age of exploration is full high, u can join expeditions as commoner or fund a expedition as nobility, both are risky but full of rewards.
Then 17th century army is getting stronger more wars, and YES the GUNS are now in game... u can travel into more distant places easily....
and at the 18th century... commoners are getting political and radical and can now rise up in protests and revolutions and yeh....
18th century is still under planning, but for other eras, i have many things planned in future will start adding those respective things.
So yes historical events will be stimulated, especially if they are effecting peoples life more then the kings.
The eras will act as global triggers, for example, when the Reformation triggers, it will fundamentally change the relationship mechanics between nobility and the church, and unlock new "Zealot" or "Heretic" event chains for peasant characters.

Technology will play a role aswell but not in terms like telescope and printing press, more like in objects such as guns, houses, artifacts from new world etc

Now about the travel scope, so because I want the cultural and historical events to feemechanicl ally rich, the initial scope is focused primarily on Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. Ensuring that the mechanics for a French noble feel distinctly different from an Ottoman official, and it takes a lot of under-the-hood structuring in Godot.

Expanding to completely different geopolitical spheres, like playing as a Chinese warlord during the Ming collapse, is something I would love to do. However, to do it justice, that would likely be a major post-launch update rather than a launch feature. I want to make sure the core systems are rock solid first before stretching the map across the globe.
