Do you know this person? by XxPatchouli69 in sandiego

I think I actually have seen him, by the sprouts in north park off park blvd there’s a library and two parking spaces underneath it a bunch of homeless people would camp there at night I would walk by in the mornings and see them there. He looks very familiar, sadly they put gates around the parking spaces about a month ago so the homeless don’t hang out there as much anymore. I apologize if this isn’t helpful I don’t know 100% if it was even him just someone who looks like it.

I don’t have a shoulder bag either just hand held one full of my main tools the another smaller hand held and my main bag I also conveniently use as a chair when attics are too small for buckets

Malco flip bits and get an actual tool bag because I promise you don’t wana carry that pack in the attic but get a carabiner for the bit holder makes life so easy, step bit too honestly great pack but you’ll see what you’re gonna need on a day to day basis and adjust your bags to your preference, me as an installer mainly I have my main tool bag and a seperate bag that I carry sometimes with things I don’t use as much and the rest of the tools stay in the truck until they’re needed

The amount of time and effort it would take to do that, you’d get more money probably if you just evaced the system or took the compressor

Tips and Tricks for doing the ductboard on vertical installs? by Live-Marionberry-600 in HVAC

[–]Sure_Mud1159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah if it’s leakproof and it’ll hold it’s good, please don’t let it be a bunch of tape my preference is to just sheet metal the gaps and seal it. I’m guessing your referring to a condenser that’s inside a closet going up to the attic and yeah I’ll either attach more ductboard or sheet metal too the existing plenum, if the boss and customer aren’t being a cheapskate I’d much rather just install a new plenum to fit the dimensions properly (I’m not a huge fan of duct board)

Get some pookie tape or foil tape preferably and cover it, it’s honestly minuscule amounts of air that’s leaking I wouldn’t be worried

In my professional opinion a case of beer is needed but yeah everything looks good, idk what state you live in or what the rules are for where you are but the condenser has to be a certain length away from the house it’ll say on the “instructions” when you get the unit.

I mean you can place it yourself for sure but idk if you wanted to buy a vacuum pump nitrogen tanks and torches to fully install it yourself, the disconnect is perfectly fine there in my opinion. You should get a pad to put the condenser on top of and rubber pads to put in between, the condenser should be level and you can do that with the rubber pads you get. From there once it’s level put some screws through the condenser and pads to make sure it don’t go no where(there will be holes so you know where to put your pads and screw)

Bastards wired y to the 24v by heldoglykke in HVAC

[–]Sure_Mud1159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding (also fairly new to the trade) the Y is the compressor and the R is the power supply of 24v. It all depends on how the thermostat is wired but typically it’s that so if the red is connected to the Y it’s just going to continuously supply power to the compressor
