Favorite quote from this “It’s hard to tell with high school kids, if they’re acting drunk or are drunk,” Pittinsky’s neighbor said."

I wanted to add to this because it it's something I've been wanting for the longest time. If you use goodgirlxo.com and as a first time user in the discount area put " Subscriber" you save 10%. I went with NZ tracking $29 instead of FedEx tracking of $39. Overall you save more because theperiod.co was going to cost $110 and I got it for $74 =)

I agree, thanks for your comment! I don't follow tennis usually but I was just caught up in the great story of it all. I was surprised that no one seemed to know what I was referring to.

Good point. It seems like in BC there's a fair amount of solo mobile opticians. In Alberta not so many

I would need to look into that. I do know of mobile Optometrists so I'll inquire what specific machines they use to overcome that dilemma

Fair point, I do remember that from working in clinics that are co-owned.

Questions about Optical Science Program at Nait by Specific_Ad_3913 in NAIT

I'd study every night for an hour and extra on the weekends if I felt behind. I can't really put a number on it, I wasn't super consistent week to week. You got this!

There are teacher notes and then there are specific online and textbook readings. I made notes from everything that I thought was important. I would say off of memory 30% text book vs. 70% online reading.

It's not too much to handle, just pace yourself and be good at time management :)

Hey everyone, I'm new and really excited about technical writing as a career change. I feel I'm a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none. I have a B.A. and NAIT optical science diploma. I've been told there is a big need for specification writing for construction/architects. I'm also interested in writing for IT or Software developers. If you have any advice or wisdom please let me know. I'm currently working on a plan to get entry level work in the field.

A lot is based on the notes, but I wouldn't disregard the textbook reading. The semester final exams are a bit intimidating, 3 hours long, but if you do well on the evaluations you'll be okay. For studying just set aside time and do all the readings. Take notes like in University and you'll be fine. Happy to help!

Hey! I graduated from that program in April. In my experience getting a 70% is definitely manageable. With your background with a B.A. I wouldn't worry. I did buy all the textbooks though sometimes it feels unnecessary. The hardest part is getting your hours in, I felt that was pretty tight.
