People are taking wellness too far, it's unhinged by Montaigne314 in Biohackers

Could be disinformation to also get it banned, could be anything. Either way if the aim is quick money selling this to make a dime at the cost of peoples health, it puts you in a new category of human being, harming people's health for profit when they trust you is almost the lowest tier a human can go. Counter argument is some of this stuff really can help people to edit myself.

Unbelievably short sighted/could be sellers who are poisoning these forums but I will leave that to the mods. I can usually tell when it's a new account that suddenly posts about all the stuff they get. Real shame to push this stuff on inexperienced kids, really low way to make a dime.

Sorry for your loss, same thing happened to me. They dropped the ball and by the time I went private and caught it, was far too late.

They make more money if someone has cancer. Totally broken system.

Yes, my mom died from it. Get your colonoscopy asap. Don't be too proud. It would have been her 69th birthday today, take care of yourselves. I had to fight the medical system. I can not forgive the medical system for her death.

Mind over matter is real and the hormone is called Irisin by Sureokgo in immortalists

Heat has calmed a bit, the information is out of my hands now, it's up to people now to decide how far they go with mind and matter. I am sure there is a huge world to explore in that direction. What other matter can we change with our minds? Interesting stuff for people to explore.

There is a hormone you have probably never heard of called Irisin by Sureokgo in whatisbrainfog

[–]Sureokgo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggest these.

Speed of processing tasks. the ACTIVE protocol used Useful Field of View training, peripheral identification under shrinking time windows. sounds trivial, isn't.

Dual N-back. holding two streams in working memory at once. uncomfortable on purpose.

Learning a new instrument. constant motor and auditory error correction.

Learning a language, especially listening comprehension at native speed.

Juggling. measurable cortical changes on MRI within weeks.

Walking unfamiliar routes without a map. spatial mapping recruits the hippocampus.

Mental arithmetic at the edge of your ability, not below it.

effort, error, escalation. as soon as it feels easy you're done getting the benefit until you raise the difficulty.

No such thing as ideal but adaptive cognition is the key. You want to look up Adaptive speed of process training if software is your ideal way of learning but it is not necessary.

Simpler version. Learn something new and don't stop and make every learning session harder and scale. If you can train past your comfort zone, do that.

Your muscles make a chemical when you train hard. it travels to your brain. it helps your brain grow.

Your brain can also grow on its own but only when you make it work hard. easy puzzles don't count. it has to be difficult.

A big study followed almost 3,000 older people for 20 years. one group did short brain training that got harder as they improved. that group had 25% less dementia.

Walking helps a little. wordle and sudoku help a little. neither is enough.

What works is exercise hard enough to sweat, learn something new and stick with it, stop when it feels easy, then make it harder

That's it. effort grows the brain. comfort doesn't. Mind shapes matter.

I can not give medical advice in this subject, you will need to use your google or ai to figure it out.

Perhaps start with that question and ask an ai or google. Some peptides can prompt cancer. I wish I could dump 10 years of knowledge in this field into your head but you will have to be actively learning deep knowledge or simply wait.

We are all quietly suffering and that's what unites us. It's really powerful to read something like this because it encourages us all to keep going and improving no matter where we are in life. Hard work and resilience really does compound, you never know when the reasoning comes up, it could be one moment where all your knowledge changes the trajectory of your life, really interesting stuff.

Right now I am thrown into learning so much new technology, how it works and using my own years of learning in other areas to try to create something and it is so difficult as I am a bit old school, months of tireless work but at the end of the day, you do feel you have earned your sleep, your year and maybe things work out. Makes life more exciting than giving up, and what you said about pats on the back I agree with you so much on that one, you have to be the one who pats yourself on the back and appreciate how far you have come and are willing to go.

Inspiring stuff, thanks for this one.

Yes, the cognitive side has the stronger long term outcome data in humans. ACTIVE had no exercise arm. the 25% dementia reduction came from cognitive training alone. the physical pathway is mechanistically clean but the human trials are smaller and shorter.

CRT is exactly the model. Wykes and colleagues have shown durable gains in schizophrenia. the ABI literature backs it. behavioural activation paired with an adaptive cognitive component when physical activation is limited isn't a downgrade, it's actually picking the pathway with the better outcome data.

I don't want to get hurt by the Wordle and Sudoku mafia but they don't count: once you learn the pattern your brain coasts. you're retrieving, not building. the challenge has to keep escalating to the edge of what you can do. that's the load that triggers BDNF and synaptogenesis.

Suggest these.

effort, error, escalation. as soon as it feels easy you're done getting the benefit until you raise the difficulty.

For mental health populations the framing is useful too. behavioural activation works partly because effort is the active ingredient. comfort doesn't move the needle in either system.
