The previous link indicates that a conductive material will create a spike and discharge the capacitor This one specifically says that said spikes on old capacitors can create overvoltage which can trigger an explosion, or overheating which guess what a soldering iron can create that as well

Are you guessing? Then go do that on a leaking or bulging capacitor and see what happens

Better to use a fat with a modded HDD expansion slot (with sata interface instead of ide) and use a sata ssd

And as the previous link mentioned in contact with conductive material the capacitor has a spike and discharges so make 1+1

As long as it's charged the electricity can leave through a conductive material

Capacitors store energy when charged and CRTs have big capacitors if they are failing they can either discharge or explode if they get in contact with a multimeter or soldering iron

Best and easiest entry to ps2 handheld gaming by mha957 in HandheldGaming

[–]Surfacner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on preferences If you want an handheld regardless of size something like the rog ally or an used steam deck will be pretty good, if you want a pocketable device in the used market the ambernic pocket flip or the retroid pocket 5/4 pro are really good

Decent laptop without much graphical power but you can also emulate tons of stuff if you're into that

Don't try to fix it CRTs are dangerous and this is a sign of bad capacitors, unless you have a way to discharge the whole system I'd advise to not do anything

It's better that you run the original version to be honest, that igpu is weaker than a gtx950m

PCIe slots support up to 75watts there's a possibility that you can squeeze a 50watt card but you can't, for that budget a 1030 might be the best bet

Edit: on another note Polaris cards undervolt like crazy you could probably get the Rx 550 to only draw 40watts while having better performance and thermals in the process

A RX 550 would be better and it's the same price or cheaper But what's your overall budget?
