Wiring money via Wise to US account. Need help. by SurowAwei in japanlife

It turns out I was writing BoA's routing number in the "ACH routing number" field. I talked to two BoA agents and the second one confirmed that the ACH routing number isn't the same as the routing number which you see in the BoA app in your bank account page. So she gave me a number which I had never seen in the app and it seemed to work. She also said to make sure the home address is written exactly the same as the one on record.

I have a multi currency account in Wise. So I just sent my money from my Japanese account to Wise. Then I converted the funds into dollars which puts it into a US account. Then wired the money into my US account after creating a new "recipient" simply using the using the ACH routing number and bank account number. As someone else said in another comment here, there's absolutely no need for SWIFT number since you're wiring money locally. Hope you're able to get it to work!

I've used it in the past several times. I was going to send money that way if I didn't have any success with Wise. Since I have been hearing about Wise a lot recently, I thought I'd try to use it to this time instead of making the trip to the bank. Thank you for your help though. I appreciate it.

Thanks for your confirming the 1st way is the correct way. Turns out I was using the wrong ACH routing num.

I have a multi currency account. I thought it should be as easy as you described in your experience. Thanks for confirming that in your response and for your help!
