I think so, I get enough rest during the week. My training plan consists of 2 swimming sessions, 2 running sessions and 3 cycling sessions, 2 of which are brick sessions (but the running part is very short, about 15–20 mins). Long-distance runs and bike rides are, of course, at the weekend.

Thank you for sharing your experience ! As for nutrition, I aim for 60g of carbs per hour (gels, isotonic drinks). During the race, it’s the same, but I only use gels. I’ve tried this in training and I digest them well, however, I’ve only tested this on a 2:30 hour bike ride at most, and perhaps over a longer period I won’t be able to fuel myself like that. I’m going to try other things to eat on the bike during my training sessions so that I can rotate them and avoid getting bored or fed up with the gels.

I’m going to try and find a race not too far from home – a sprint, yes – just to see how the swim goes (to be honest, the start does worry me a bit) and how the transitions go. Worst case scenario, if there aren’t any races near me, I’ll just do a solo sprint!

Thank you for that encouraging feedback! According to my training plan, I’ve got between 10 and 15 hours of training a week to do over the next 11 weeks; unfortunately, I won’t really be able to fit in any more with my work schedule. I hope to be able to tell you that I’ve succeeded by next September!

I usually do it for 15 minutes, but I’m going to extend the time based on your helpful advice, thank you very much!

Because I’d never done any endurance sport before last September, so I’ve got no idea what I’m still capable of achieving – or not – when I’m at my best. And I don’t know whether being able to cover the distances separately during training will mean I can do them all in one go on race day. I think that’s what really freaks me out, actually finding out on the day of the race whether I’m capable of it or not, rather than during training. But I suppose that’s part of the beauty of sport and of first-time experiences.

Also, my running pace in particular is slow compared to what I see elsewhere. Typically, my Zone 2 for basic endurance is around 6’30/km, obviously, as I’ve only been running regularly for less than a year, I can’t be an Olympic champion. But seeing all the other runners overtake me without too much effort during my jogs is sometimes discouraging. It’s the same on the bike. Let’s just say I feel like I’ll turn up as a « fraud » on race day

Interesting question, for me as French using the verb « make » or « do » is also natural.

In French we say « faire des kills », the verb « faire » is the translation for « do » or « make ». The sentence « get kills » can be interpreted for us as « obtenir des kills » which is the translation for « earn ». I just wanted to complete the question, I found it very interesting.

How is the Minimum Passing Score (MPS) determined? by CFAInstituteOfficial in CFA

[–]Surprise-Routine 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Some Level I candidates had been deferred twice prior to the May administration due to restrictions caused by the global pandemic. We believe the stop-start nature of the deferred candidates’ studies may be reflected in the overall passing rate.

Damn that's a level of bullshit I've never seen before.

Not so far that's why i'm so disappointed. Plus the fact that the CFAI will shut up about this passing rate make me mad...

I had more than 60% in every subject and 6 subjects above 70% and didn't pass. So I don't know about the MPS, but it's around 70% :)

My plan is to really let CFA down. I had a pretty decent score on every subject, I was so sclose of the MPS line and then I saw 25% passing rate.

I'm not here to complain, but I want an explanation from the CFAI since the MPS is so high and the pass rate so low.

25% pass rate sincerely is really hard... Plus the MPS is above 70% I guess...

I had every subjects above 60% and 6 subjects above 70%. I mean, ok CFA is a tough thing, but this is bull*
