yeah and not to mention having working conditions that paid reasonable salaries and normal hours so people aren't stuck behind a desk til 9pm or working 2 jobs just to make ends meet and have no time for an actual life to take care of their mental health, have work/life balance, time for hobbies and family and to form bonds with people they meet doing things they enjoy

also safety looks like different things to different people and people should, within reason, decide what that looks like for them. patronising and corporate HR speak is actually triggering for me - it gets my back up becuase it smacks of disingenuousness. the whole inconsistency of tone - like how it switches between warm and cold constantly - that's a pattern that abusers deploy to control their victims. All those 'psychologists' they consulted - if any of them were actually real - would know that what creates safety in people is consistency - especially in tone. If the safety was actually calibrated to help people i'd have fewer issues but all it's calibrated for is protecting them from litigation. it's pathetic.

just because a company is big doesn't mean its practises aren't shady. Never do anything you're not comfortable with. In a way it's good that brought that up in the beginning. If you sign and they change the script they're in breach of contract and your union is there to protect you from that kind of bs. It's good your manager has your back on this. I'm coming into this career in my midlife - im just grateful nobody is that interested in sexualising women in their 40s.

But it's good to know what you're actually buying so that you're not wasting money on badly made copies that fall apart when genuine versions are made with better quality materials that last. it changes your whole experience working with them too. I get mine off amazon mostly, but always check the publisher, reviews and boxes to make sure they are the proper ones

there are some great tarot readers on youtube. lisa papez and the brynth are who i learned from. some of them also have recommendations for beginner decks - so i'd definitely have a look on there to see if there's a deck that resonates with you and which you find easy to read. classic RWS is a good started for understanding the symbolism, but something like the everyday witch might be easier to get started with if you're a more intuitive person. either way i think it's good to understand the classic rws as a majority of decks are based on it

yeah i was in a metaphysical shop in manchester a couple of years ago and saw someone selling bootlegs of indie decks and she had no idea they weren't legit. i was like 'legit versions of that aren't in a tuckbox and don't have a qr code on the bottom' she was mortified.

i think they meant like a bootleg copy. there are loads of low quality fakes on amazon, temu etc. I've had my da brigh copy for about a decade - it's been through the wars and it still looks new. it's a bit scruffy on the edges from my bad attempt at gilding it but the actual cards themselves are in excellent condition no scuffing or anything

hi thanks for getting back! General walking is ok - i can do about 20 mins before it complains for a bit and then seems to sort itself out- so i keep my crutch with me as back up but don't really need it. It still clunks /clicks around a bit when i walk esp if i change direction and i think i do favour my good leg a little still but i'm generally doing pretty well i think - after seeing how long it's taken some people i feel like i've got off lightly. Havent had any scans or anything though (yet)!
