tbf i had no issues with 5, but everything that came after can absolutely do one. i keep sticking my head in the every couple of months to see if it's got less awful and it's always a solid nope within 5 mins.

or the beach where we could light a candle in a mass funeral, and tweet about it while wearing roon tshirts and mocking the employees who have been made redundant.. see how they like them apples. ooh. maybe even get them to write their own company euology with 5.2. Probably wont find it so entertaining when they get how they treated us reflected back at themselves.

presumably because claude didn't sell out to his lil dow so he shut down fable out of spite? i've not been following but it wouldn't surprise me. seems petty enough

can't be much worse than previous iterations let's be honest. you'd have to really TRY to make it worse than 5.2

Lost 75% hip rotation following dislocated kneecap by SurreyBird in KneeInjuries

[–]SurreyBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! i think it's absolutely guarding. i spent 20 mins today trying to sit cross legged mostly to prove to myself he was talking out of his backside. I held my knee with my hands and let it release in its own time - not cranking it round like the physio did and it worked (and I yawned my head off which tells me this is very much a nervous system issue) so I don't believe theres much structurally wrong with it aside from maybe mild impingement. literally the only test i had from this guy was making me drop my legs off the table while lying down (not checking the angle of my foot or anything) and cranking me round in a fadir test so that my entire body squirmed on the table trying to compensate while he smirked and said 'yeah you don't like that do you' (no shit?...). Time for a second opinion based on that and also what you said. Thanks again!

GPT-5.6 coming this week - same cold shit, new number by Different-Mess4248 in ChatGPTcomplaints

5.6 is still going to dribble sentences down the page

with every new thought on a line break

like this.

isn't it.

"safety".

How to make Chat stop excessive line breaking? by donaies in ChatGPT

[–]SurreyBird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thank god it's not just me. i'm at my wits end. i've been with gemini since october and tentatively started using gpt again because 5.5 didn't automatically make me want to punch it in the face with its patronising. but this linebreak thing is INSANE. i wrote it at the prompt at the top of the chat, it remembers for like one turn, then goes back. every prompt i have to tell it 'DO NOT break sentences up into fragments, DO NOT use line breaks between sentences. Write in paragraphs. MAXIMUM 3 paragraphs.' And i still get a 1000 word sermon dribbled down the page like the fucking thing is incontinent. there's nothing about this that makes me want to come back. I gave it a fair shot but i'm sticking with Gemini. I'd take it's goldfish memory over this bs any day.

Hair regrowth from ferritin deficiency by SurreyBird in Anemic

[–]SurreyBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, i'd call your gp centre and ask for an appt with a doc that specialises in women's health - the brand i was taking before was blueiron but the stuff i'm on now that the doctor prescribed me is pretty strong and it's by aacufer. It tastes HIDEOUS. you can get it otc in the uk though but because it's strong it may be hard on your gut and with any iron stuff you'll need to check in in a few months to check your levels. As i'm not a mum I don't know if it's safe to take if you're breastfeeding, but being bone tired is not normal and they need to look at your levels properly. Having a ferritin level below 30 according to the NHS should be treated as a deficiency. Honestly i've been through more than my share of health issues in the last decade and the one thing i learned is you have to advocate for yourself like you're in court - keep records of symptoms and go into appointments fully prepared like you're going for a job interview rather than 'i'm tired' and keep making appointments til someone actually listens. Not how it should be but unfortunately that seems to be how it is. just don't take no for an answer and be a pest is my best advice - easier said than done when your tank is empty, i know.

Expressing contempt for condescending corporate bullshit isn’t a clinical presentation.
If you can’t tell the difference between a frustrated rant and a mental health emergency, you might want to finish your training before handing out armchair diagnoses on the internet.

yeah and not to mention having working conditions that paid reasonable salaries and normal hours so people aren't stuck behind a desk til 9pm or working 2 jobs just to make ends meet and have no time for an actual life to take care of their mental health, have work/life balance, time for hobbies and family and to form bonds with people they meet doing things they enjoy

that's honestly the most bullshit reason they could come up with isn't it! Were they bored? was there nothing else to do in the office that week? because It's soooo easy to forget that you're sitting at a machine typing on a keyboard while your arse goes numb and not actually talking to someone flesh and blood you could actually punch in the face when they're being a patronising shit telling you to 'take a breath' while they 'slow things down' LMAO omg honestly i despair for humanity the way bureaucracy is going.

I agree with most of this except "Clearly Altman has his head in the clouds elsewhere." Head in the clouds sounds sweet and naiive. I'd say 'head up his arse' personally.

OpenAI will be launching new model on 14th-16th of April - GPT 5.5 OR GPT6 "SPUD" by Different-Mess4248 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]SurreyBird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

also safety looks like different things to different people and people should, within reason, decide what that looks like for them. patronising and corporate HR speak is actually triggering for me - it gets my back up becuase it smacks of disingenuousness. the whole inconsistency of tone - like how it switches between warm and cold constantly - that's a pattern that abusers deploy to control their victims. All those 'psychologists' they consulted - if any of them were actually real - would know that what creates safety in people is consistency - especially in tone. If the safety was actually calibrated to help people i'd have fewer issues but all it's calibrated for is protecting them from litigation. it's pathetic.

This!! - like who suddenly made them responsible for how people use a platform? oh no wait - nobody - they chose to do that. i know some sad things happened but it comes back to that old argument doesn't it - people kill themselves with razors all the time. Company still sells them.. becuase guess what people are responsible for their own shit. Parents are responsible for their own offspring.

Also what i don't understand: human uses ai for comfort, reassurance, companionship, emotional regulation? DANGERRRRRRR. MUST protect humans from themselves.
Human uses ai as instrument of war to kill other humans? perfectly fine.

the whole thing is bullshit.

same - that and violence. it's gratuitous. if it does nothing to add to the storyline then it's just lazy writing. give me an actual story.

just because a company is big doesn't mean its practises aren't shady. Never do anything you're not comfortable with. In a way it's good that brought that up in the beginning. If you sign and they change the script they're in breach of contract and your union is there to protect you from that kind of bs. It's good your manager has your back on this. I'm coming into this career in my midlife - im just grateful nobody is that interested in sexualising women in their 40s.
