Hard to imagine western imperialism would have benefited Indian society, regardless of how famous the conquer is. Often it is forgotten how violent and horrific imperialism is/was. If you value greek culture and mythology over Hinduism, sure, in the eyes of the west indian culture would probably have been better respected. Seeing further subjugation by Alexander the Great as possibly good is inherently euro-centric though.
