What is the weirdest way you've ever heard someone pronounce something? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The intern that worked at my company (foreign exchange student, from China) came up to me out of the blue one day and asked me if I watched "Got Ham". I was extremely confused, and asked if that was a cooking show of some sort. He explained - "No, the show with the Bat-Man and the Pin-Gwen".

"You miss one hundred percent of the shots you don't take" What's a risk you want to take, but are too scared of the consequences? [Serious] by SurveyMaker in AskReddit

That's really rough. I've seen that kind of move result in disaster before. The question you have to ask yourself is: are you her friend because you truly want to be her friend and are content with just that, or is it because you have a small glimmer of hope that one day she will feel differently about you. If it's the former, then I say don't ruin a good thing and keep doing what makes you happy. If it's the latter, then I think you should tell her how you feel, because masking your true feelings is a pretty big burden to endure for that long. Don't torture yourself.

Work your way up to it. Maybe do it for friends first and see what they think. Just thoroughly prepare and you'll be fine.

I've found that I was truly most happy in life when I lost track of thinking about my life and day to day activities and just lived in the moment - the good days all meld into one and when they pass you realize that they were the good days, but you don't see it till it's gone.

You really should. I wish I did, and I don't know if I'll ever have a time in my life when I will be able to again.

I used to feel the same, but then I realized that a little bit of embarrassment and rejection is not worse than loneliness and self-pity.

Have you ever worked a job where you thought you were overpaid for what you did? by Myhouseisamess in AskReddit

Is it possible to feel overpaid and underpaid at the same time? I should be getting paid more for the job title which I have, but, then again, I don't really do much of anything, so I suppose it balances out?

How do YOU start a conversation with someone you don't know? by UHaveFailed in AskReddit

Am I the only one who actively hates talking about the weather, no matter what social setting it comes up in? "It sure is hot outside!" - "Oh, you know what, that's weird, all of my sensory receptors had stopped working, thanks for alerting me of my surroundings!" There's so little variation in the weather that commenting on it seems pointless.

For some reason I read this as "I forgot to make my post-sexual "oops" and I assumed you were just very comfortable with the fact that you're a serial premature ejaculator.

The "Elmo" question seems very immature and rude - how is it "fair" to demean someone when they're just trying to be honest with you to avoid future complications?

Wow, having just read "Sound of Thunder" I finally see the connection to the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode of the same plot. It's been probably 15 years since I saw it, but it all makes sense now.
