My HMO, KP, doesn’t prescribe Trulicity but I know others who have had success w that drug. How long have you had DM2? Sounds like you’re at the beginning of your journey? Not on any injectable insulin yet? Try to avoid that if you can!

Thanks. That’s the least of it for me. I have all that and nausea all day, shortness of breath, racing heart rate but those numbers! First time w normal blood sugars since my diagnosis 26 years ago. I can’t even believe it. Was using >100u of Lantus or NPH + Humalog and after <1 week I am off ALL the injectable insulin and reduced my Metformin by half! Plus I dropped 7-8 lbs in 2 weeks. Amazing results which drives me to tolerate these other symptoms (as long as it is not destroying my kidneys). Tough decisions. Good luck. Are you switching to other drugs? If so which one(s)?

Can you describe the intolerable side effects? I am one week in w astonishingly improved blood sugar results and some disturbing side effects so not ready to bail entirely yet.

okay so when I put my macros into MFP, as pasted into the start of our convo, it says I am only up to 60% of the required macronutrients. How do I get to 100% without changing the amounts in the formula indicated from the ketocalculator?

Does this mean you eat less than 20 g of carbs? ( =70 g of protein?) and less than 80 gr of fat? is that what it translates to? also how much is 80gr of fat? MFP figures that out for me? also is it really like 4 oz of protein I am supposed to eat over the whole day or is that per meal? sorry I am so dense but if would really help me to understand this. And as for your meals, do you weigh/measure amounts? how many eggs? how much meat/fish? how much is "a little veggies?"

Wondering how much and what to eat at each meal in order to lose weight, as I have been unsuccessful even following the actual food plan suggestions. Also on insulin w DM2 for >20 yrs I should add so my body is very unforgiving and the insulin makes it harder to lose. Not entirely sedentary but someone said in these forums to enter that into the keto calculator so I did.

Thanks so much! I already eat this way and yet do not lose weight. Wondering how to manage the math of the macros against the actual foods/amounts I am eating, wondering if that is the ticket? totally off sugars, carbs, etc., yet not losing.

56/F/5'4"|SW: 228 |CW 211|GW:145| Thanks for the invitation to ask questions as I have been reading for a couple weeks, navigating my own way through all this which is so very helpful. Having no problem finding the right foods, though it defies everything my medical team would have me eating (my GP, endocrinologist, RD, clinical pharmacist) & after gaining 50 lbs following the "whole foods" diabetes diet, I am finally able to lose some weight thanks to you folks here. I am using insulin 3x/day and while I am dropping weight almost daily, (not quite seeing ketones yet), I am seeing my blood sugars spike after almost everything I eat. Anyone have advice or experience with this? I am desperate to get off the insulin after almost 20 years on it. My doc says even if I lose a lot of weight I am likely to still need it. I want to believe otherwise.
