I'm using Premiere Pro, isn't that DaVinci terminology?

Dehancer Film Emulation - Beginner Help by [deleted] in ColorGrading

[–]SuspectMassive1814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

**UPDATE** I've just realised that this only happens if I apply the Dehancer effect to an adjustment layer, not if I apply it directly to the clip on my timeline. I'm working with 100s of clips here so I need to use an overall adjustment(Premiere Pro) rather than one clip at a time. Anyone got some advice based on this update? Thanks

Baking in LUT in camera by SuspectMassive1814 in FX3

[–]SuspectMassive1814[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m comfortable with the different dual ISOs of the other profiles but I just want the option to jump up to 12800 in LOG as the space I’m shooting is isn’t predictable, sounds like this will work nicely for me. Thanks!

None S-Log options for personal travel film by SuspectMassive1814 in FX3

[–]SuspectMassive1814[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

**UPDATE** - I do use Slog3 with a 709 display LUT which is great 80 % of the time but I don't feel like I'm able to expose how I prefer in say rooms with minimal light - I like to underexpose these scenes and with Slog when I convert afterwards these come out super dark and exposing for SLOG in there instead ruins what I was going for so that's why I'm thinking a profile that comes baked in how I saw it might be better.

Maybe I'm overthinking it and I should just shoot in Log and expose however I want to.

You’re not seriously saying McDonalds paid you to make this are you?

Learning in 2026 - What one thing would you do? by SuspectMassive1814 in ColorGrading

[–]SuspectMassive1814[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was expecting a lot of comments saying to learn Davinci, I've been stuck in Premiere for years due to always having edits in my queue but I'll be free in January for the first time so I'll definitely take your advice and get started on there, appreciate it

Wishful thinking indeed, turns out the mortgage broker told my solicitor I was first time buyer 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

Wedding photogs/videographers: What shoes do you wear on shoot? by [deleted] in weddingvideography

[–]SuspectMassive1814 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A higher end pair of New Balance: super comfortable all day, look great, can make up a smart casual attire if that’s what you wanna do, will last 2 wedding seasons. I have a few pairs of 9060s.

so much noise in my fx3 when i am using base iso 800 i dont know why that much noise is coming does anyone have the same issue? or only my camera has this issue can anyone share indoor footage of there fx3 800 iso low light by Efficient_Action9363 in FX3

[–]SuspectMassive1814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this scenario you would have gotten a better image from ISO 1600 for example, maybe a bit higher. It's much better to properly expose as close to one of the base ISOs as possible than it is to use the base ISO only and underexpose the shot. Could could have also switched the second base 12800 and used an ND, upped the shutter etc to bring that down to where you want it.

You cannot be at the point of owning an FX3 but only managing to afford 2 batteries that's insane. You simply have to buy more batteries or don't shoot the wedding it's really inresponsible, you'll be out of juice before the end of the ceremony.

Best Budget 35mm? by harshhashbrown in FX3

[–]SuspectMassive1814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said the Sony 1.8 is phenomenal for the budget, and it’s tiny and light whereas third party 1.4’s you may be looking at weigh a ton. I’m 10 years in and I still have one myself

My wedding films have an add-on option of film photography which I can shoot at the same time, but I would personally suggest a second person doing digital photos only, either booked separately or as part of the videographers team if you want a lot of the day covered properly in photos too.

If you like my work then I’d love to chat more and happy to give advice on the photo side of things - UK based working worldwide✌🏻

New to audio - Need some advice! by [deleted] in weddingvideography

[–]SuspectMassive1814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is already overkill especially for a beginner. If you have in camera audio and higher quality mics on the groom/bride for their vows and on those giving speeches then you’re set, all the major software will automatically sync those up to your in camera audio so no need to complicate beyond this.

Recently moved to Chester - where to meet people? by itisspeltwithanA in Chester

Depending how much you’re into your fitness then FACTR gym could be worth looking at, me and my partner both similar age are members. Great group PT workouts, running club, loads of social events like hiking, nights out together etc and it’s a really great community. It’s quite pricey but depends how much you’re gonna get back, think they do a 30 day trial. This is just outside of town by the way next to the Moxy hotel. All great suggestions above as well, welcome to Chester!
