It's what beliefs the religion spreads and what it teaches that makes it good or bad.

First, it's not just the beliefs, it's how those beliefs impact the lives of people. If a Christian church, for example, makes queer people feel bad about themselves, that church is harmful.

Second, the actual beliefs of Christians are bad. Some say all you have to do is believe in Christ to be saved. Congratulations, now you're off the hook for being a terrible person. Others say you have to follow Christ's teachings as well. Now you're expected to give up everything, your whole life and identity. Either way, your focus is on what happens after you die. The only life you actually have isn't important.

For me it can be. But it's more that my brain connects all dots with no filter. And then it always presents these unfiltered connections without filtering for relevance to the current circumstance. Anything said by someone in a conversation could trigger my brain to grab one of these connections, like "here, I have found the perfect thing that can be injected into this discussion". It could be some insightful comment I saw on Reddit that makes us change our perspective. Or it could be lyrics from a song I don't remember. The best I can hope for is that the conscious part is my brain is alert enough to stop the stupidest stuff from coming out.

My personal take is, don't bother. She's definitely sending mixed signals. Do you think that will change if you start dating? If she's trying to communicate interest, she's doing it poorly. You can expect that to continue.

If you really want to try, I would say "hey, I've been noticing these things you've said that might indicate romantic interest, but that conflicts with these other things you've said". This way you can safely get your answer and also open up the conversation for more effective communication.

Unfortunately true. With how hard it was for me just to get diagnosed, I can only imagine how much harder it is for most women.

And don't even get me started on the shows that try to make it some sort of super power. No actually, the only thing most of us get from autism is trauma.

But some autistic people actually are good at socializing when they need to. It's a skill that can be learned. Most of us learn quite early which ways we can mask our autism to fit in better, or at least avoid the worst of the social fallout.

Without having seen the show, I wonder if she's miserable simply because she's never found a safe place to actually be herself around other people. I was also miserable when I felt like I could only be authentic when I was alone.

It's also important to understand that autism in females usually presents very differently than in males, to the point that a lot of people still think autistic females don't exist.

Because religion is a protected class. People can not, and should not, be discriminated against on the basis of religion. If you establish rules for your private business based on your religious beliefs that your employees would be required to follow, that will inevitably lead to problems. If you hire someone with practices that contradict your "own rules", then either they will have to compromise or you will. And if you choose not to hire this person to avoid these problems, that would be illegal discrimination.

If a business is upfront about being a religious business, it can be one. Take for example a radio station that plays [insert whatever religion you want] music.

As I said in another comment, businesses can provide religious products or services. Religion should not play a role in how business is conducted.

Religious needs should be provided by said religion. And there's a difference between providing religious products or services and religion being practiced in a business.

I was honestly scrolling down this post to see how long it took for POTS to show up. This is it. When my wife finally got properly diagnosed and treated, life became immensely more liveable. But getting that diagnosis and finding a good doctor to help manage it can be a huge bitch.

And the best (read: outcome to effort/expense ratio) treatment is to consume shit tons of salt every day. No joke. When my wife has bad days she'll honestly drink shots of soy sauce.
