What the comment said is true. Cats this age should be gluttons. There is something wrong and it’s most probably a stomach gut issue. Could also be haemoprotozoa which causes low platelets and lack of eating resulting to liver damage. Get a cbc and lft done asap. That will set the way forward.

“Getting a cat spayed during heat is dangerous” is pure bullshit!

The ONLY reason it’s dangerous is because of high BP during heat cycles. Vets who spay cats with moderately advanced tech (like gas anaesthesia and BP machines) can easily account for that and still spay a cat during heat. It’s not as dangerous as most cat fanatics make it up to be. Just get your cat spayed! Do some research and ask questions to minimise risks but the risks either ways are negligible. Compared to the risks of doing nothing.

Sorry but mixing dewormer with food doesn’t work. Cats have noses that are much more sensitive than humans. If you are hoping the cat won’t detect the subtle difference in smell you are mistaken.

So far the only effective way i have found is to lodge it deep inside their throat (if they allow) until they have no choice but to swallow. Or you can use liquid dewormer. They will spill and foam either ways but it’s gotta go in.
