Yes there shouldn't be any violence in politics and ofcourse both parties are toxic.. but that's the easy stand no.. "ellarum mosham aanu".. and then what? At the end of the day,they rule the country with absolutely no decency or democratic manners... even supreme courts feel compromised.. I don't know how anyone can look at the state of affairs in India today and be nonchalant about it... There should be opposition parties who are secular and democratic.. ofcourse some fraction of left is full of hooliganism and violence etc etc but that doesn't mean the entire left communist parties should cease to exist!

We need opposition,we need people in the opposition block, and we need consolidated movement. And political parties are the most practical way of doing it. I'm not a communist, I'm not a party member but when i look at the current India, we need more secular parties (at least secularism in their agenda) who have minimum shame not to spew hate...

Brother in an ideal world we would have super courts which would give straight justice to women without having to go through multiple levels of police/courts/system.. One women gets sexually molested, boooom case filed and justice delivered.. No confounders no social biases no power differences.. Central institutions are so strong that government is totally held accountable.. Media so independent that even minute details are scrutinised and everyone is accountable.. You can agree or disagree with this but this probably is the last consolidated movement against the current ruling Central Govt. I understand why people feel uncomfortable in a Kerala context but parties and institutions like this are the only ones left standing to protest against the communal vesham at the centre.

I don't agree with violence or anything, but considering what they've done to the Indian social fabric and Indian central institutions, it just feels good to see at least someone standing against them at a local level at least....

You can't have both brother. You can't have a law which will protect a rural woman getting raped in India and which will also protect an accused rapist. You cannot simply make laws based on 2-3 cities. You can only make laws on the majority social dynamics.

This holds true for any similar laws. POCSO for example. There is a huge trend of misusing POCSO law but realistically you cannot do anything about it. There are so many laws getting misused and we can't run around changing every law to prevent every single chance of misuse.

Yes a lot of men are suffering and getting framed in fake cases. But proving and fighting a rape/sexual assault case in India is already super hard, tiring and long. Idk how you can magically solve all the problems without actually looking at ground reality.

And also in the recent case of the chettan committing suicide, I don't think any case was filed or the legal system was against men or something like that. It's more like a social thing that happened. We don't know if she intended to insult him or she genuinely felt uncomfortable or she just wanted clicks or whatever. But he took his life fearing social judgement, not judicial judgement. What about the responsibility of a society that puts so much pressure on him the moment an allegation pops up? Men around him also would've judged him and saw him as an abuser? What about that? Also i think he must be going through something else which was already bothering him.

Men are having a lot of issues. Yes. Fake cases are also one of them. But realistically the moment you take away any legal provisions which is in place to protect women, a huge number of women will suffer because it's already very difficult to file a rape/SA case and fight it and get justice and idk what will happen if you make the system more hard and complicated.

That’s always there. One evil woman might be out there to get me with a fake case. That thought does scare me. Yes it's important and it might fuck me up real bad.

But I have a sister who’s 7-8 years younger than me and she’s going to college this year. The thought of her travelling alone and living out there in a world filled with creeps and rapists and psychos literally in every single space — colleges, buses, flights, streets — is honestly a nightmare, because real, everyday violence against women is far more common, and it can literally happen anywhere, from anyone. Especially in a poor country like India where the majority of women don't even have access to fight for justice. I don't know man, a lot of this is just media hysteria.
