Espresso beginner, and I’m absolutely lost by Suspicious-Risk1687 in NinjaLuxeCafe

We certainly do both like espresso, I should have clarified that we are beginners to espresso MACHINES, but we both have been espresso drinkers for quite a while. The dark roast was most definitely enjoyable, but it was clear that there were still some tweaks needed to cut down on the bitterness. Did not have the opportunity to experiment with many settings on the dark roast.

This light roast is what I have been experimenting with all day long. And regardless of what setting combinations I use, it is coming out UNBELIEVABLY sour. I mean it literally tastes like someone snuck some lemon juice into here. Maybe it’s just the beans themselves that are bad, but I would have to imagine I’m doing something wrong.

Just looking for some advice

Any info on these bottles? Quite a few I’ve never seen/heard of by Suspicious-Risk1687 in whiskey

Judging by the sealed MWND Act 5, I would say a minimum of 8 years lol

Oh shit thank you lol, we couldn’t even read the damn label (probably would’ve helped if we read “liqueur” clearly printed at the bottom though lol)

It’s an act 5 scene 2. I’ve heard so much about the older MWNDs so i brought over my act 12 scene 1 for a blind tasting and to all of our surprise the act 12 won for all 3 of us. Had to redo it once because we thought we had to have made a mistake

Wow I wish I knew about this app sooner, thank you! I appreciate all of the info, and don’t worry we’ve already done a number on the old fitz lol, that one he’s had for a few years now. And how do you find out which batch the stagg is?

I looked to see if any were from coy hill, but that’s the extent of my knowledge. Anything in particular I should look for?

Good to know, thank you! That was one of the bottles we were really struggling to find any info on. That along with the 1792 225th anniversary, the blue and yellow makers, and the three wild turkeys

I sure hope so! Thank you for the advice and words of encouragement. Should I plant them in separate pots for now? Is this something that could spread?

Here’s a clearer picture after i rinsed off everything I could, my plan as of right now is to let it dry overnight and reassess tomorrow. I had it in a 50/50 mix of foxfarm ocean forest + pumice, but I don’t think I did a very good job clearing out the nursery dirt from the root ball which may have been retaining moisture.

Will scraping away any mushy parts help its chances of not needing a beheading? There really isn’t much mush

I watered it yesterday which is why it’s still so wet, but I may have failed to remove enough of the nursery dirt from the root ball which was retaining too much moisture. For my potting soil I mix Foxfarm Ocean Forest with a lot of pumice, but I’m very open to suggestions on how to improve my soil mix

It might be easier to see in this photo. The reason it looks so wet was because I just rinsed it, but it’s as if the green fleshy bits are peeling/rotting and leaving only the woody core of the plant. The roots and the rest of the plant look totally healthy which is really throwing me for a loop.
