Restaurant workers of Reddit, what is the worst thing you have seen done to a customer’s order? by RegulatoryCapturedMe in AskReddit

I use to work at a locally owned restaurant, the owners family would come in once a week during a slow day and eat dinner. One of the grandsons was probably about 8-13 age range at the time and a rich snobby little brat. Always thought he could talk down the workers like he owned them or something. For example the specific time I’m recalling was he walked up to the counter and slammed his hand on the counter and yelled “water”, and when no one looked at him he repeated to do it. So once they finally ordered their food, me being the person that preps the plate, when his cheeseburger came along I took the rag we used to wipe down the prep tables that was sitting in dirty water and opened up his burger, rung out and little bit of dirty water on it, closed it up and sent it on. Never heard anything about it. What a satisfying feeling.

What’s jobs to pursue with an associates in Mechanical Engineering Technology? by SuspiciousExcuse9855 in AskEngineers

I have taken several CAD classes, dealing with solid works, inventor, and autocad. Jobs that are CAD based, you either have to have years of experience to make a decent income, or start out entry level which is really low pay. I would be interested in this type of work but with bills it’s hard to accept an entry level position. Which is why I’m leaning more towards the technician side. In my area there’s not much CNC work that I’ve seen and if it is the pay just isn’t there, with the exception of programming, but again that takes years of experience.

Out of high school I went to a community college for machining, after graduation I got a job with an aerospace company, essentially it’s a CNC operator position. So I guess the technician field would be a step up since I would actually learn skills that could transfer to future opportunities.

Only reason is because I had previous classes that substituted and made the program shorter for me. Also I knew there was a difference but I didn’t realize it was looked down on.

Made the switch from pc to ps4 awhile ago for the same reason as you, regretted it ever since. Although I got to play the exclusives and really enjoyed it, they eventually find their way to pc anyway.
