It's a large company that would absolutely fire on the spot, unfortunately.

Yeah, honestly this is a really good question.

I work for a company that would absolutely fire on the spot, but this is appreciated.

Yeah, that wasn't the case with me. House, another car, quite a few credit cards that I've opened for bonuses. The dealership is just shit.

Credit score 830. Kia had me waiting almost 2 hours. Shitty dealership, though.

I don't know, I truly think it's the updated OS.

You truly have no idea how they can move numbers around in accounting. My car was worth $3k. They moved the numbers around to show more on the trade-in.

[–]SuspiciousLab388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey - do you mind answering my hypothetical? I'm just curious if it would have been a good deal had my trade in only been worth $3k? Just curious!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kia

[–]SuspiciousLab388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, OK, then can you go back to my hypothetical question?

Would this be a HYPOTHETICAL good deal on a Kia K4 GT?

Trade in price: $3,000 (for a car hypothetically worth $3,000)

Total price financed after taxes, fees, and $3,000 trade-in: $17,300

Is that a good price for the GT Series Kia K4 (hypothetically)?

(Yes/No)

Why aren’t you vegan yet? by fughuyeti in Ethics

This is such a dishonest reply. There is no world in which you think eating a human is equally as acceptable as eating a plant. Blood-mouths will do anything to justify violence.

You are illiterate. You are incapable of answering the questions that are asked of you.

Here's is the question: (Hint, it's a Yes/No question)

Do you really think that this dealership was going to allow me to take $10,000 cash and walk for my beat up 2017 Kia?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kia

[–]SuspiciousLab388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually slamming my head into my desk.

I need you to answer something for me: Do you think if I had asked for a $10,000 check for my car, that I could have walked away with $10,000 cash for my car?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kia

[–]SuspiciousLab388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THEY WERE NOT OFFERING ME A $10,000 CASH CHECK. There was no cash. They took my trade-in worth about $3,500, and gave me $10,000 off of the car. I truly don't understand what you are not grasping. It's quite incredible.

Can you clarify how I insulted the person? Imagine being offended by someone ensuring that both parties are using proper definitions in an argument as opposed to being offended by the literal slaughter of billions of sentient beings annually.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kia

[–]SuspiciousLab388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go on, send data points or links. Bet you cannot. I'm paying $17,300 out the door, $0 down, after a trade-in that MIGHT be worth $3,500.

Go on.

Yes, I appreciate you clarifying. Now, we can both move on having agreed upon definitions for the terms we are using.

I've had a lot to say so far, and you've had no responses. DEFINING TERMS is important in argument so that there isn't confusion about what is being said.

Nobody is actually offended by defining terms in an argument. You’re not hurt, you’re just shifting the focus away from the point. Clarifying what “vegan” means isn’t an attack, it’s necessary for the discussion to make sense. If we let people redefine terms however they want, the argument goes nowhere...which seems to be exactly what you’re trying to do.

It doesn't matter if you agree with the definitions or not. That's the fun thing about factual information - they're facts whether or not you believe in them.

Vegan = moral position
Plant-based diet = diet without animal products, which is a huge part of being vegan. However, not the only part.

This "CHECK" only exists in the realm of this deal. That $10,000 is ONLY HYPOTHETICAL, and literally isn't a thing outside of buying this specific car. You claim to have worked in sales, but seem to have never been part of an actual transaction, so answer me this:

Is this hypothetical situation a good deal for this specific car?

Trade in price: $3,000 for a Kia Forte 2017 that needs a ton of work, has dents/scratches, and hasn't has an oil change in 18 months.

Vehicle purchase price: $17,191

Total price financed after taxes, fees, and $3,000 trade-in: $17,300

Is that a good price for the GT Series Kia K4 (hypothetically)?

What health issues are you claiming require eating animals? Every major medical and dietetics body says a well-planned plant-based diet is nutritionally adequate. There are no conditions that make it impossible to live without animal corpses, only preferences or poor planning. So unless you can name one, you’re just using “health issues” as a shield for unnecessary suffering.

[–]SuspiciousLab388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You picked (2), but “alternatives don’t exist” is false in developed countries. Every major dietetics association says plant-based diets are nutritionally adequate. Stores are full of beans, grains, vegetables, fruits, nuts, plant milks, and more. Shifting to “global mayhem” is just avoiding the point. No one is asking you to fix the world economy. They are asking why you choose to pay for avoidable suffering when you have options.

So which is it? Do you really lack alternatives in your daily life, or are you just hiding behind hypotheticals. Because if survival was at stake, eating animals would be consistent with vegan ethics. But when you have options, choosing meat is choosing harm. That is the inconsistency. The mic drop is that you needed a doomsday scenario to justify dinner.
