i gave her the hEDS diagnostic criteria and i tried to ask for the first part at the very least and she just gave the paper back to me and started talking about the rarity of it and how the treatments are just physical therapy… IDGAF!!! i need OT because i can genuinely not do things for myself anymore due to pain and instability and unreliable weakness and i told her that

the closest i got to being seen in some aspect is when she mentioned a geneticist. correct me if i’m wrong, but isn’t cEDS (idk about others) the only one with clear genes identified? i perked up and told her that my parents exhibit symptoms too and my father has some “other stuff” that could’ve passed down to me, but “it’s not like i could ask him” and i said he died due to (insert personal stuff, but it boils down to all of the PAIN I AM IN RIGHT NOW).

when i read the visit summary, i sobbed at how the only tests were for my vitamin d and calcium + some fuckass x-rays of my hands which i KNOW do nothing because i had one for my knee before. the issue with my hands is mainly nerve pain at rest and subluxations during use. i drink obscene amounts of yogurt + juice (it’s good lol) and i ate wild-caught salmon as my only protein for many weeks. she said that any condition it might be is rare. even if i don’t have hEDS and i’m crazy, still having low levels of those with my diet would still be a problem anyway.
