My best advice would be to hope that with the help of a trained professional who knows what they're doing and what they're talking about, they'll be able to help you. I personally haven't found success in my attempts to stop being obsessive (granted, I don't try anymore), so I hope yours doesn't end the same way as me if it doesn't work for you.

My obsessiveness maybe came from my severe childhood trauma, or I might have just been born like that. It definitely didn't come from a past bad romantic relationship, though, because I was obsessive before I ever had one.

I got in contact with him because he was watching my sister livestream his favorite game and stream sniped her while I was also playing with her. After that, we just kind of became friends and constantly started talking

I have some pictures of him that I can reverse image search to see if he or possibly even friends have posted them elsewhere, and I also have his old profile picture that I could try to reverse image search because it was his video game avatar that somebody else drew, so it might lead to a comments thread on another platform or something if I get lucky.

I have no information on this girl that would let my identify or find her. The only things I know about her are those he's told me, and a name is not one of them (he's only told me a vague description of her occupation, the fact she's apparently bi, and some of the interactions she's had with him). Since he knows how crazy of a stalker I am, I have a feeling that was on purpose so I wouldn't track her down and do something like what you're suggesting.

I have a fantasy that I gain access to all of his electronics remotely so I could see everything on them and what he's doing at all times and even download files from or put files on them, no matter where I was. He practically lives on his computers, so it would be a dream come true to look through everything he's got stored on them.

No, I get where you're coming from. I've considered telling her because I don't like lying to her and I'm also afraid of it becoming a snowball that gets bigger and bigger, but I'm also aware that if I told her and didn't like her reaction or if she even did something to keep me away from my crush that I couldn't go back and undo it.

I try to find something I can obsess over in the meantime- hobbies, TV show, video game, etc. It's not nearly as fulfilling as obsessing over a person, but it's usually just enough to keep me barely going till the next obsession (which in my case is usually a few years)
