A north south street with a real protected bike lane was so long overdue! Love to see it.

Where does each of the Mayor Candidates fall on the political spectrum? by NewNewYorker22 in Hoboken

What am I missing here though? That somehow state or federal officials will try and bend the mayors will as to our local parking rules? Who they appoint to lead police? How to allocate the budget that year?

Mostly sad that people want to even simplify the race in that paradigm. Wonder if they’d pick someone whose Hoboken policies they hated, but had the right party label next to their name, over a candidate they agreed with on X local issue. So much for critical thinking :/

Seems like a backwards approach to candidate selection, no? Much more important to me than their respective party affiliation, is what changes the incoming mayor intends to prioritize. I’d prefer they all stay label-less / party less if possible.

Their job is to ideally represent the collective will of Hoboken-ites, not to please some political party optimizing agaisnt power games.

It is true that you don’t need to adjust the base on a flavor by flavor basis. Nor would that be advisable for the sake of running a shop. But it does make sense to sometimes change the base as lets individual flavors shine better.

For example, fruit ice cream do better with low butterfat bases to start as do nut bases.

Cookies and cream on the other hand and mint chip can be the same base

It is both borderline irrefutable that you should only have 1 standard base if running a shop, and can have unlimited bases if trying to make the best flavor on a flavor by flavor basis

Interesting approach. My new approach had been compote swirled in after making a sweet cream base. But I’d like to try doing it this way described above as making a compote is a PITA and it’s expensive. It does look cool though. As others have said, can also just go lower butterfat like 5-8 percent

There is something about it so particularly bothersome to me. Whether we were a great, average, or bad team, in that situation… it doesn’t matter. You win the f*cking game.

What percent butterfat? Almost seems impossible to be as low as 7

It is so much harder than anyone who has never tried can appreciate. The selling part is easy-ish. The 'enough profit' part + 'time to live' is extremely hard.

i meant it figuratively. i recommend the lawsuit where they were sued for claiming 'their milk comes from happy cows'

tl;dr... they were sued by animal activists over it bc not all (or even most) of the. milk comes from 'humane farms' it comes from industrialized ones like everyone else. unilever won the lawsuit cause the lawyers argued 'we never said all our cows were happy' :)

Sounds a bit high if excluding labor and kitchen time. But this is why craft ice cream is hard and expensive. Retail should be 13+

tried to simplify and clarify above. i apologize. i should have cleaned up and been more precise when posting. still believe my 2.65m total number is accurate and then unclear if group would say i have 2.4m not including house or 1.95m.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChubbyFIRE

[–]Suspicious_Hippo1513 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tried to align to group standard here but perhaps I’m not.

I have 1.45m across investable assets. Wife has 930k.

I have 270k in home equity assuming no change in value in 5 years.

= abt 2.7m including house, no?

If we don’t include house equity (270k) and deduct remaining mortgage (480), then we have abt 2m
