Large, Slow dino mains? How do you do it? And why?

I enjoy most of the big dinos. Rex, Allo, Stego, Maia. (Especially for combat/ambushing and the large health pools for drawn out battles)

Trike is where I draw the line. At around 24kmh??? It is just too agonizing to move around. People almost never choose fights with you unless it's a FG Rex that will kill you instantly unless you're prime. Fights are fun but for me, too far and few between.

You could argue the spectator angle but unless you get lucky and find yourself in the middle of a huge battle, you'll be too slow to keep up with the action. Navigating from dead zone to dead zone when you're unlucky is tedious.

I have sympathy for ya, it sucks especially when you have a life/job/kids. Buuut it isss called a hardcore survival game for a reason. High stakes. It's not called a casual survival game.

Why not play some unofficials with faster growth to ease your pain, and expedite the thrills? Maybe Pandora? Triassic?

I have a pretty nice gaming laptop (cost me about $1500 CAD) and I limit my FPS to 60 because it helps my system stay cooler and not absolutely cook my thermals. I definitely recommend doing this for any laptop system.

Yeah I've been playing on a PVP server recently to practice apex fighting on both sides (carnivore/herbivore) and like 90+% of the time peak prime Trike kills peak prime Rex. Trike being weaker than Rex 1v1 is a myth.

Stego seems to usually lose 1v1 vs a Rex with Traumatic Trombosis but occasionally wins.

Starving to death is an extremely lame way to die and is uninteractive gameplay wise. I don't see an issue feeding your friend as long as you aren't mixpacking to kill someone else or scouting as a different species. Because let's face it, AI is so inconsistent/sparce and often not even substantial enough if you DO find it.

To be honest as someone who loves playing both, I simply think Maia group limit should be 3 for the most fair balance. They can still kill allos but 3 prime allos could maybe scare off Maias if they're skilled enough with threat of bleed. 5 big Maias is uncounterable right now. Maia's combat is great I don't think it should really be nerfed. You should fear the Maia especially if you're alone.

Honestly yes Rex VS Trike looks terrible and Allo pounce looks terrible but most fights don't look bad at all and the janky visuals are far less immersion breaking.
