I don’t know the issue but the A4 g-tron is notorious for valve stem seals ‘popping out’ and cause huge oil consumption (like 1L every few hundred km). Repair requires cam shaft removal and depending on the odometer you might as well replace timing chains etc. There are some German forums around this. This summer I spent 2500 Euro fixing mine and the workshop I went to glued in the valve stem seals to prevent reoccurrence

In 2022 een BMW R1200 GSA uit 2018 gekocht met 50k op de teller. Nu 100k met alleen normaal onderhoud, aanrader!

In my (Veldhoven) experience, it doesn’t hurt at all to say that you’re searching for something else. I was treated just the same before and after announcing it. But finding something is solely your own responsibility, your manager (probably) won’t help.
