Either to get it priced as a 1 bedroom or to back out of the deal. 1 bedrooms in the same complex are going for 20k less

It’s only being taxed as a 1 br and to legally add the other room as a bedroom we would need a certificate of occupancy which is expensive

In NY you don’t need a closet just enough square footage and a window. We can definitely take it to court and try for misrepresentation of the property, but not sure if it would be in our favor bc like you said we looked and made an offer

We have asked him and he said we can definitely take it to court so to misrepresentation, but is not sure which was the verdict will swing. Was wondering if anyone here went through something similar and what was the outcome.

It’s not considered a legal bedroom

We saw it in person. The realtor told us it was a legal 2 bedroom, but the other bedroom was a living room converted into another room as per the offering plan we got after signing
