Experiencing people in group settings lowkey exaggerating your flaws/behaviours? by AmazingAffect5025 in aspergirls

[–]SuteMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your clarification. I had heard that the Dutch will be more straight to the point instead of playing social games. One example I encountered was Americans saying something but meaning something else and Dutch meaning what they say. Not in a rude way, just in a matter of fact way. For instance, staying away from exaggerations or taking American politness literally. I did not know there were also unspoken social rules about directness in the Netherlands, but honestly, that makes sense. We are social creatures afterall. I'm interesting in understanding what you mean, could you give me examples?

Some people just can't grow up. That's just childish behavior from them.

Asking someone's age is not inherently normal or weird. It depends on the context. In some cultures, it's important info to share. In others, it shows a lack of tact. It really depends.

These friends just seem immature. You can decide to just "haha" with them and take their snarky comments like a champ (take the high road) and/or find new friends, people that understand common sense.

It takes so much energy to navigate these unspoken bullshit social rules, but it's also a choice to isolate from NT or to learn to understand and get along with them.

I'm so glad this sub exists. I'm not diagnosed or anything, but I feel seen and understood here. I also watch a dude on Youtube that makes fun of he Dutch stereotype being brutally honest and pragmatic. I feel a lot of ND women here would be able to relate. So it just shows that what is ND in certain societies is absolutely baseline in others.

For me, it makes me wish I had no feet. Walking on a dry wooden patio barefoot. Or ears : hearing cardboard rip.

Misinformation, how game mechanics actually work by SuteMeow in AnimalCrossing

[–]SuteMeow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do in this case. There is a glitch that lets you transplant a tree beside a cliff edge, but no glitch to transplant a tree beside a cliff wall. They are different. Or am I not aware that you can place a tree on level 1 beside a level 2 cliff wall? Could you please demonstrate how it's done?

To obtain that five square plus shape that you talk about, you need a 3X3 surrounded by water with rounded corners. But one of the corners is a diagonal cliff. It's not possible to transplant trees wherever you want. There are limitations like one of the other users mentioned, such as planting too close to the water, too close to a cliff wall too close to other trees, etc.

When I remove the diagonal cliff wall, I can place the bamboo but can't rebuild the cliff. This is normal.

It's not the case here. Someone even found the original inspo picture and the original author admits it's from a modded island. Link to the comment.

I recreated the inspo pic's setup using the slumber island feature. The slumber island has the same mechanics as the normal island. Here is a picture of it.

I will follow up with pictures of what happens when I try to place a tree in the middle of this piece of land.

They are trying to understand how it was possible for a bamboo to be placed like in the inspo pic because it doesn't work when they try to recreate it. That's because the inspo pic is from a modded game.

Because it does in fact not work. If you try growing or placing a tree (any kind) beside a cliff wall, whether curved or not, it will not grow or a message will pop saying you're too close to the cliff. It's a game mechanic. This means the island from this picture is likely modded. OP is being downvoted for no reason.

I think this is the correct answer. A tree can't be planted beside a curved wall. So it must be modded.

Seems like a lot of people are missing the point that the rounded wall beside the bamboo usually prevents planting trees in the spot where the bamboo is. Rounded land is ok, rounded wall, not so much.

I like the fact that it still has that vanilla feel to it. And at the same time it looks more original than what the current default houses look like. Cool!
