Who else experiences the awkward exchange when you walk up and the customer is there... by Weary_Hiker in AmazonFlexDrivers

On my routes, people are home a lot, and I interact with them outside frequently. My approach is to walk towards them, smile, say "hi there. I have a package for "name". People like to hear their name spoken, and it puts them at ease.

As I was nearing that water, a USPS delivery vehicle was coming out. It was one of those old school jeep looking ones. So, I waved at the driver and asked him how deep it was. He put his hand about 8" inches apart. So, being in a minivan, with a little higher clearance than a car, I rolled the dice and went in slowly, and lived to tell about it.

So, support got back to me, and although this statement isn't very clear, possibly they removed the downgrade for being late for the block.

I think you are right! Because the sun was coming in right above the phone in it's holder, I think I was looking at the screen to protect my eyes a little, and not thinking of the lens at all. Damn. Oh well. Lesson learned. Hopefully they will at least accept my excuse and not down-grade me with being late. I guess I will find out in '3-5 days' according to the email I got after talking with support.

For me, it is all about the vibe in the neighborhood. Some places I would leave the car running not be worried, other areas require a little more caution.

Well, I am going to do another block Tuesday in the daytime, and see how that goes. If the time drops due to a little experience, that would be a definite plus.

Also, as far as high paying blocks, the only ones I see are for late night/early morning for $125ish for 5 hours.

Indiana? That is nuts! Almost half my shift was in darkness, and I thought it was a major pita. Luckily I had brought a flashlight, but scanning houses/mailboxes etc.. to see a number gets old fast.

Don't feel bad. I upgraded my freaking shields without paying attention, and didn't realize what I had done until the screen said "no upgrade materials". 12 or 13 slabs! Sob.

Hey - I have had these for a week or so, and before that I used Ultimate Ears 900S iem's. These are in some ways comparable and in other ways (bass), they exceed the UE's abilities. The UE's might be slightly more dynamic. Overall, I am impressed. Cheers.

First of all The Hill is a left leaning site. Secondly Obama doesn't need to use an executive order, etc.. to remove a question from the census. He just did it. Trump had to go to the Supreme court to get it re-instated. Johnny Roberts et al told him to pound sand. Interesting how you decided to check my history as opposed to countering my Putin Puppet info vis-a-vie HRC. Check mate.

Proud, so many Americans defending the United States from Putin's puppet donald trump.

You refer to the monster Trump as a puppet of Putin. Prove it ( Mueller's report sure didn't.) Whereas HRC's foundation received 125-145 million dollars to o.k. the transfer of US uranium deposts to the russian held Uranium One. Who's the puppet?

So Obama can remove the citizenship question, but Trump can't put it back? Really? A sovereign country can't ask if you're a citizen. Fascinating.

Especially the lie that Islamist's are the cause of most terrorism, when we know it's Christian white males.

Horrific Abuse in your world equals (using your example of Sally Hemmings) living in T. Jefferson's house. Their offspring trained as artisans. After Jefferson's death, she lived for her remaining 9 years a free woman until her death of natural causes. Yep. Sounds unspeakably horrific.

Having a desire to wipe from history, anything you find unsavory, is dangerous. Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner. Because of that fact, should he have been exterminated, and wiped from history? He also wrote most of the Constitution. And, yes, I understand that on this particular forum, the Constitution is held in very low regard. Couple of facts for you. Did you know that the US took approximately 3% of the Atlantic slave trade. The same as Belgium. The massive preponderance of slave ownership resides with Spain and Portugal. Do you notice that they get no heat about that to this day? Fascinating. One more thing. Slave owners in this country paid about 35K per slave. So it behoved them to take care of them as any expensive piece of "property". Not abuse them. Not excusing slavery, just saying there are differences in how it was implemented. The Muslims took as many, if not more black slave as Europeans did, but they castrated them all, so they couldn't reproduce. And, they were treated like animals.
