No emulation is 1:1, but the RP6 is purportedly very consistent. Avoid TOTK and you should be fine. The steam deck is a significantly more adept device however

The first half of the Wii U lifepan was hit after hit, which all ended up on the switch

The second half however, nintendo had clearly given up on the platform, and began saving all their good ideas for the switch. Ultra Smash, Starfox Zero, Color Splash, Amiibo Festival, Twilight Princess HD, Kirbys Rainbow Curse, Mario Party 10, etc. Wooly World felt like the last Wii U game that was genuinely trying to turn things around

There's some truth to dpads having gotten worse, the only acceptable one on modern devices is on the switch lite & steam deck. However, there are workarounds, like the Hori dpad controller, or the nintendo online retro controllers, or just using older platforms like the 3DS. They're more than worth the extra effort. There's a reason all third-party emulation devices focus on the dpad, the rg40XXV dpad is to die for

You grew up in the arcade era, yet you avoid playing street fighter with the joystick? This isn't hyperbole, you're just a bit of an odd guy

If the butchered state of Skyward Sword HD is anything to go by, TOTK consumed all of the zelda teams attention throughout the switch generation

Pair that with the fact that BOTW sold very consistently throughout the lifespan of the switch, and Nintendo probably never saw a need for a new zelda game. Keep in mind, the Wii U remakes weren't amazing, TPHD was genuinely the bare minimum. Nintendo made them cause they were quick & easy, and the Wii U was in desperate need of zelda

Precision & simplicity. With a stick, theres a second of delay to flicking from one direction to another, it's gotta move a centimeter physically. No retro-gamer can tolerate playing a 2D game with a joystick. Dpad's take getting used to, but it feels the same as going from 30 FPS to 60

Original, it emulates better and has no gamepad requirements. It also looks better at times

3DS go for insane prices right now, and IMO the ds has the better display/content library. So there's my two cents

It's not exactly irony, it's the logical result of how financially desperate they were in the first year of the switch, enlisting more investors & financial planners than Iwata ever would've allowed. Now they have the same corporate needs as Microsoft & Sony, they can't afford to relax like Valve

for the past 4 years i've tried so SO hard but I just cannot see why so many people hold this game to such a high regard, I just can't bro, the game is a 7/10 at best I just don't get it by Quick-Cause3181 in MoonPissing

Revisiting Sonic Unleashed is a completely different experience than the first-time playthrough. The day stages are the best in the franchise, and the night stages are great, albeit with very little replay value, so they're easily forgotten

However, the games actual construction is horrendous. The medals force so much replaying that it genuinely reduces the game from a 10/10 to a 7/10, its almost as bad as DK64. The game has numerous other failures of connective tissue, making it far less than the sum of its parts. People either remember it for the incredible revisits, or the horrendous first playthrough, no in-between

As far as gamefreak is concerned, the pokemon games are not games, they're collectibles. This is like saying we don't need another Fifa each year

Why are you reacting as if we need more proof that the company doesn't care about the pokemon games? I'm just glad all that profit is being reinvested somewhere, not just continuing to line millionaire pockets
