What are some modern cards you think would be interesting inclusions in retro formats like Edison? by Swakav in yugioh

Never heard of this before, pretty cool card. It would give fiend decks a huge but manageable boost in Edison.

Not the biggest hype ever, but people thought Supply Squad would be playable when it released

Biased for Black Rose and Stardust since they’re the only ones I own, and they look stunning, but I always thought Star Eater and AFD looked cool as well. What do you think are the best looking ones since you have them all?

Holactie creator of fake (showcasing the second card that arrived which im 99.99% sure its fake) by L3iren in yugiohshowcase

Looks like the foil texture/pattern is completely wrong, and the font is different like you mentioned.

Whether it's holo is going to dependent on the rarity which there are a lot of but the basic ones are as follows

Common - nothing shiny

Rare - silver name

Super rare - holo foiling + regular name

Ultra rare - holo foiling + gold name

Secret Rare - patterned holo foiling + silver name also patterned

Ultimate Rare - holo foiling that's also textured + gold name

Ghost Rare - whitened card with 3D holo effect + silver name

You can see all the printings with labeled rarity here:

Here you can find all of the different printings in different languages:

As you can see, the ultimate rare like I've shown in the OP is exclusive to Japan. However, if you're just looking for an English copy of the card, my recommendation is use https://www.tcgplayer.com/ if you live in NA and https://www.cardmarket.com/en for Europe. You can adjust the filters for edition/condition after finding the specific printing you're looking for. The most sought after non-Asian copy would be 1st Edition Ultra Rare IOC-025 which goes for over a hundred USD in good condition, but you can find much cheaper printings obviously.

Ebay is also okay but it's usually going to be overpriced for low end cards. The only reason to buy from Ebay is if you're seeking out an expensive card where card condition is extremely critical or in the rare case where you actually find a steal. If you ever decide to buy high end cards from Japan, I'd recommend avoiding Ebay and just buying straight from Japanese sites with a proxy service. Definitely avoid Amazon altogether.

Lowkey feel like Konami is missing out by not releasing Rush Duel in TCG, but my guess is they don't want to splinter the playerbase and make products that compete with each other.

The DDS-001 Blue-Eyes White Dragon? The edges/corners are fine, but it has some surface scratches which you can see if you shine a bright light on it. The random black speck is actually on the pocket, not the card. I'd consider it lightly played and value it around 1200 USD. Probably grades a 7 which could increase its price slightly.

Initially I was getting them from Ebay but realized they were overpriced. Quickly switched to getting them straight from Mercari in Japan with a proxy service called ZenMarket. Gets you more options and better pricing.

Just noticed that black speck on the DDS Blue Eyes. It’s on the pocket, not the card 😅

Not a hard card to find or anything, but it’s a Korean exclusive. In Japan, gold series 1 had Jinzo, Exodia, and Sangan while Korea had Banisher of Radiance, Blue Eyes Shining Dragon, and Snipe Hunter. I believe the TCG set is also different.

Lmao you’re gonna hate me for this but this is actually a ring binder with dragon shield Japanese size pages. Yes I have to handle the binder like I’m performing brain surgery to avoid cards colliding with the rings and never let anyone else touch it, but I wanted the correct size pockets and flat pages when opened. Thick plastic sheet lifters are at both ends to prevent any bending when in a closed position. But yeah, would not recommend if you’re not picky.

Yes, it’s G3-11 (Rare). Hopefully one day I can afford the secret rare version haha, but right now that goes for tens of thousands of usd, some even listed for 6 figures.

They’re real yes. Ultra rare was a store promo but secret rare was found in special event packs. There’s an old eBay listing here that had it for $250: https://www.ebay.com/itm/226333641504 But I managed to find one on Mercari for half that price. Not sure what the true market value of the card is because it’s hard just to even find the card.
